So I had an easy time finding an OB doctor because my husbands aunt works at the hospital. They all ended up to be GREAT and I would sooo recommend them to anyone... Just wondering who everyones doctors are and if you like them... Anyone have any bad experiences??
Oh yeah... I had the OBGYN group.. :)

OBGYN Associates

I like most of the doctors (the original staff from the Skyway Plaza, with both offices being combined I havent met the oher half yet lol). I have had my concerns about all of the ones i know but I know they have to do their job.

My only really bad experience with them is that one doctor gave me a medicine for something and I got the extremely rare side effect from it and he acted like I did it to myself and was a complete a-hole about it upon discharge from the hospital at 14wks with this pregnancy. This same doctor was a wonderful one last year when I was pregnant and delivered my son shortly after midnight and i could see in his eyes he was sooooo tired.

I have used Dr. Bum Jo Kim for all three of my kids. I love him to pieces. What I don't like about the big offices is that you have no guarentee that you will get the doctor of your choice. With a smaller office you get your doctor. Dr. Kim is always available and rarley is out of town. He is known for running down the ally from his old location to get to the hospital to make sure he is there for a delivery. He is also called upon by many doctors to help deliver proir to opting for a c section. His hands are small enough and he has alot of experience with deliveries.

I have two people that I know that had ill experiences with the larger ob clinics because even though they are suppose to confer with each other in the office the practice is so large that they loose track of individual patients and don't follow any case from the beginning to end. With my situation is was nice to have the same doc for each visit (no nurse pract.) and he knew how each of my labors progressed and new when there was trouble approaching from the prior birth experience. I would prefer the smaller office and one doc. Very good man he is Dr. Kim

I agree. With my first son I went to large doctor office. I didn’t even get to see all the doctor before the end of the pregnancy. The doctors were all nice but I felt like just a chart. I switch after he was born to Dr. Eifrid in Plymouth. He is awesome. Plus there are only two doctors.
I do know of some that went to Dr. Kim and they loved him.

OB office's

I am 34 weeks along with my 3rd baby and I see the OBGYN associates that primarily deliever at Memorial. I really like Dr. Wolf for any one that needs a great deal of explanation on anything or someone that seems to genuinely care. I am a nurse, and he still makes sure to explain things to me and doesn't act like I should already know everything. He calms my nerves and reassures me. He is very thorough and will listen to your needs and will do his best to figure out issues if you are having some. The other Dr.s are good at delieveries and I trust them to do their best to safely deliever my baby, however not necessarily the best bedside manners. I also know how they treat nurses which could be why I feel that way. I haven't been treated negatively by either of them, however I have friends that work in Labor and Delievery. I do like this group since it is smaller than the one that delievered my 1st baby. I think there were 12 Physicians in that group. I'd really love to see a nurse midwife, but I am very picky about the Physician that is back up for them.

I also go to OBGYN associates and I totally agree with you. Dr Wolfe is awesome. I have an appointment with him next week and I'm excited because I will actually get my questions answered. I have asked other doctors a lot of questions and I don't feel like I got definite answers from them. I like how personable and genuine Dr Wolfe is.

Dr Wolfe

Dr Wolfe is awesome! He is always very concerned and caring and explains it all to me even though this is #4 for me haha. They started doing the 20wk ultrasounds in office recently and Dr. Wolfe came in and explained every single picture and body part he was looking at and telling me how it looked great even though it was measuring alil over a week ahead for gestation but he was no concerned at all.

Dr. Fergeuson (i think i spelled that wrong haha) now he can be a major a-hole at times and very rude and crude and flat out inapproiate.

Dr Ferguson

AMEN SISTER!!! I have had Dr Ferguson for my past 3 appointments and I am so irritated. I have asked questions and he doesn't really answer them. I SO wish I could choose one doctor and just go with him/her. It would SO be Dr Wolfe.

And when you deliver and you get Dr. Ferguson...

I stayed with a one doctor with all three of my kids. I can't imagine having a doctor that I didn't like and I have to go through many hours of labor and then pay his bill.... I am sorry that you have had to have the same Dr and that you are so irritated, but I can't think why would a person continue to use the same practice that they dislike drs. that they may have to have for delivery and you yourself have had to have your last three appointments.

If it were I and I really wanted to stay in this office, then I would insist that one of the other Drs see me or I would find a office that I liked them all and they worked with me. Really you have to be comfortable with any of your doctors and if they can't answer question and be civil with you---Then my friend its time to move on, have a serious conversation with the other doctors and if they don't relize that this is going on and don't want to work with you , there are too many other qualified Doctors out there that do care.

Good luck , Labor is too long to be with someone you can't stand!

If

I get him I know he'll do his job. He delivered a friend of mine's daughter and did a great job. I just don't particularly like his bedside manor. You run into that in any practice.

MommyKitty's picture

I skip his name haha!

when i go to schedule my appts I look at the schedule before the lady even asks and I just say whichever time I want that isnt with him. I had Dr Wolfe for my last 3 appts and he was great! I see Dr Lyons next. I have yet to see any of the doctors that came from the other office.

If when i go to deliver I have Dr Fer again I know he will do his job without problems since I will have my 4th c/s. He wants to make sure he does a good job in there because He has HIGH hopes for me to beat his previous patient record of 7 c/s on one lady. haha! uhm that would have me having 10 children just so he could deliver 8 of them. I pass haha!
