YMCA membership

Anyone have a YMCA membership? Is it worth the cost for your family? What programs and facilities do you take advantage of? We are considering a membership because we need to get out of the house during these cold winter months, but just wondering if it's worth the full membership or if a limited membership would be best. Any advice appreciated, thanks!

We have a limited membership right now
If you are only doing one thing for the kids then it probably isn't worth a family membership. However if you would use it too as a workout facility then it is definitely worth it. Last I knew it was about $46 a month for a family membership, and a lot of gyms are at least that anyway. It also makes a difference how many programs your kids are in, when there is only one it isn't going to save a lot but when you have two kids in everything it cuts the cost in half for swim lessons if you are a member. It is $66 every 8 weeks for one child if you are only a limited member, but cut it down to $33 if you are a member. If you have two kids in swim lessons all the time it almost pays for the membership but not quite. I will probably get a full membership in the next year or so because in addition to swim lessons and other activities for kids they have a discount on summer day camps, afterschool care and things like that.

I just got a membership last month. For a family its $720 a year or $60 a month. They have scholarships available if you need financial assistance. We got one and I only have to pay $30 a month. I love it because they have a heated therapy pool and I can take Bekka in there at night. It really helps with her CP and her muscles. Plus she's a fish!! I love it too because they have FREE babysitting while I work out. They do have alot of good programs there too like preschool, swimming etc....
