I interested in hearing some feedback from people who went to this event this past weekend and what you thought of the event. If you were a vendor or had a booth, was it worth it? Did you make lots of contacts and was there lots of woman there?

If you went just to shop/hear speakers was it worth it for you? Did you have a good time? Just curious! I've never been to it and I'd like to know what it was like!

Women's Expo

I was a vendor at the expo, "Scentsy Wickless Candles". It was not worth the $500 booth rental. They even closed the show 1 hour early because there was almost no one there!

Our twins club used to

Our twins club used to participate years ago, but we stopped when non-profits were shuffled off to an out-of-the-way corner. I actually haven't been to one since.

We did participate in the Make a Difference Michiana Philanthropic expo last month and found it to be the perfect for our needs. I believe it only cost $40 for a table (and that included lunch!)

We were looking into the Family Expo put on by Michiana Family Magazine, but that one is also wanting $500 per table. I think it would be cheaper to rent a kiosk at the mall (not that I've priced them). I would just like to know where some of these thousands of dollars spent go. Does it really cost that much to advertise these things, or is someone making a profit? And how much do those 'sponsors' pay into it?

Got twins? So do we! MPOMC.NET

make a difference . . .

I'm assuming that the "Make a Difference" expo was only for non-profit organizations? Can you tell me more about that? Has anyone else done booths, events, or expos that have really been WORTH the money and would do it again? I've also thought about doing the Michiana Family one, but just can't imagine spending $500 on a booth right now unless I KNEW that it would be worth it! What are other people's thoughts on this?

i did it last year...

i got an email about a week before the show and got a table on and end cap for $100 i sold about 100 worth of stuff and got my cards out... however not a single call from the cards after the fact...i would think that corporate placesd would be the only ones that could afford the 500... kinda crazy... and yes there is alot of money to be made by having these shows as far as the people that put them on...i looked into doing one a year or so ago....alot of work with a big pay off also....

Expo

My neighbor sells Uppercase Living with me and she was asked about having a booth. We thought about it, however with our kids sports schedules and Friday being field day at school we couldn't do it. We were offered a booth for $250, we were wondering if the cost was less b/c they didn't have enough vendors.

Even $250 seems like a lot of money to me since we don't sell a lot of product at these events, it's more to get the name out there and let people see the catalog. I did a craft bizarre in the fall for only $50 and that seemed worth the money. We are going to make things to sell and do more bizarres this fall/winter.
