When to start packing?
As I'm trying to pack for vacation, I can't get the song that Moose A. Moose sings on Noggin'....We're going on a trip, we're going on a trip... :)
We are leaving in the morning, and I feel like...no, I don't feel like I have a million things to do, I DO have a million things to do. We started getting our clothes out last night, so I know what laundry I need to do and so I can see how many bags we will need, but that's the easy part. My husband says "OH GOOD, we are almost packed" HAHA, yeah right!!! Now I have to make sure the cameras are charged, pack the snacks and books and toys and milk for the carry on, make sure we have arrangements to and from the airport, make sure the house is halfway clean so we don't come home to a disaster, and so on. Of course, the day that I really need to kids to be good and be able to self-entertain, the baby has been fussy since he woke up at 7:40 and Luke is following me around going Mommy, can I have this, Mommy why is this like this, Mommy can you do this for me, Mommy why is Shawn so grumpy...I DON'T KNOW!!! haha...yes, I think I AM in a bad mood today! I know I have a list a mile long, and I'll be up most of the night trying to get it all done! Not to mention, I don't feel good at all today!
It got me thinking, I should have started packing earlier! But then I think, lots I can't pack till very last minute. I can't pack the baby monitors, or the milk or forward the phones or pack the computers. No use in cleaning the house up because it won't last but 30 minutes, and I'll have to do it again on our way out the door!
How soon do you start packing when you go on vacation??

I ALWAYS WANT TO BACK EALIER THEN LATER BUT LIKE YOU SAID THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS YOU CANT PACK UNTIL THE NIGHT BEFORE OR EVEN THE DAY OF. cLEANING IS SO HARD TO DO WHEN YOU ARE DOING A MILLION AND ONE THINGS. WE WENT TO OHIO FOR A WEEKEND IN OCTOBER AND IT WAS AWFUL PACKING I CANT IMAGINE IF THERE WAS A BABY TOO AND FOR A WEEK OR LONGER NOT JUST A WEEKEND. EVERYTHING ALWAYS WORKS OUT IN THE END. TOO BAD I WAS AT WORK I WOULD KEEP AN EYE ON THE BOYS, ITS EASIER WHEN YOU CAN JUST DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO AND SOMEONE WATCHES THE KIDS. HAVE A GOOD TRIP TO WARM FLORIDA, WE WILL ALL BE HERE FREEZING....HAHA.
Trip
I try to start around 3 days before. I'll wash the laundry and instead of putting it away I'll just pack whatever I can that we would plan to take. Of course, toiletries and things like that have to wait but I like to at least have most everything else packed up the night before we leave. It doesn't always work out that way, but we're moms and we're used to not always having things the way that we want them.
