This is one for the resource page but thought I'd pass it along. We donated a power wheelchair that was donated to us and it finally died to a wonderful organization that I found by chance. It's www.wheelchairhelp.org They are based out of Elkhart and help all ages with wheelchairs and other equipment needs despite your financial status. They take money donations as well as equipment whether it's in perfect condition or like ours can be used for parts. We're gonna make a trip to their shop soon to check it all out. They even pick up the donations and you get a tax receipt.

I thought this might be helpful to someone, I was amazed when Bekka's PT mentioned that another child she sees got turned down by his insurance co saying he didn't need a wheelchair. The boy can't walk and has a trach!!!! If Bekka qualifies why didn't he??! Ugh I hate ins co's So I passed this along to them.

Wheelchair Help

Hi! I'm an occupational therapist (I work for Elkhart General Hospital in the Home Care division) and Wheelchair Help has definitely helped some of my patients. Our Social Worker goes there frequently to get equipment. It really is a great resource.
