I take my daughter to

I take my daughter to kindermusik at Debbie warbuck school of dance. She loves it, she can dance to the beat now, and looks forward to it, she is 20 months. It is a little pricey about 10 dollars a class if you average it out. But she has a great time, learning that she has to follow direction, share, etc. She loves the interaction with the other kids.

Healthworks Museum/Toys R Us/Other

Some might say that your child is too young but my son enjoyed it at this age. My thought is that it is indoors. Your son may not appreciate what the museum is all about but it is a change of scenery. They have a projection on the walls of balls bouncing which had my son in fits of laughter. He kept running towards them. There is also a play market and a tree house for exploring.

I occasionally take my son to Toys R Us. He likes to look at the different displays. I may have an exceptional child in the way that he never asks for anything and he doesn't throw a tantrum when it is time to go.

More ideas:

Pet store - he loves to look at the fish

Library - let your son "pick" a few books. It's been shown that young children love the sound of their parents' voice and your child is never too young for you to start reading to him.

Shipshewana - My son enjoyed the carousel and the marionette show at an early age.

Crayons and paper - It's only scribbles at that age but my son enjoyed it.

At 15 months, alot of children are just happy with attention from their parents and they love being in familiar surroundings.

I couldn't agree more

Great ideas andreariegel...Everyday experiences at home or otherwise can educate and entertain a 15 month old just perfectly! My kids also enjoy taking little "field trips" as we call it. My 8 year old still enjoys a trip to Petsmart to just look at the fish. Changes of scenery are great for moms and kids, but don't necessarily need to involve taking a class of some sort.

Jesi, if you do wish to get your child involved in something, I would suggest a library storytime. I think all the SB/MISH branches have a lapsit program that begins at 12 months. It's free and it's a great way to introduce your child to the wonderful world of books and reading! Plus, you will have the opportunity to meet other moms with kids the same age as yours.

I found this while looking for an advent calendar appropriate for my 25 month old. There are some great ideas here - some activities/crafts may have to be adjusted for your son's age.
