Just wondering how much people tend to tip? I have my hair colored/cut every 4 weeks (I do it that frequently due to my yucky grey roots starts to show a lot by then!) and just dred spending the money but I get a good cut/color. My bill is generally $75 (ugh) and I tip about 12%. When I go out to eat I definitely tip the waiter/waitress 20% if he/she is good. What's the "norm" for tipping a hairstylist? I often wondered if I should tip the hairstylist more but geez, $75 each month plus a 20% would be nuts.

I tip based on service, I

I tip based on service, I guess you could say I am cheap. I would not give more then 10.00 for a 75.00 bill. When I go out to eat, my cup stays full of whatever I am drinking, the bigger your tip will be. I work in customer service but I do get a hourly rate ( pay not based so much on tips) I just feel we all work for what we get. I think you are good giving the 12% ...... :)

Hairdresser? whats that LOL

Ok so you have guessed it i don't go very often... however when i do if i get a hair cut i usually tip 5 so i think 12% is more than fair... And i am a server so as far as that goes i tip servers vvery well... sometimes you can have a server that wishes she could take better care of you but circumstance wont let him or her... I make very good money being a server so tips aren't always a issue for me. However... sometimes attitudes are...ugggg i had a man tell me wednesday don't tell me no! tell me how much....! He was completely rude and obnoxious... However i still smiled and went on my way, even though i wanted to tell him thats whats wrong with america... sorry about the ranting ...
