Waxing

Does anyone wax at home? Any good tips? What is the best product to use? I was thinking of getting my legs waxed and wondered if I could pull it off doing it at home.

Waxing
I'm not sure about waxing, but I have had good luck with a product called Veet. It is easy to use, doesn't smell bad, and last for a long time. Also, I have sensitive skin and I found no problem using the product. Hope this helps!
Veet
Is that like Nair?

Nair?
Does anyone use this? I was going to buy some, but then I was not sure. I am very interesting in doing this, and I dont want to go to the salon to have it done. I have heard of Veet.. where can you buy it?
nair
I've tried it, and it's awful! My legs burned for days, and I was still left with leg hair!! And don't even get me started on the smell of the stuff!
I know you can buy Veet at CVS, so I'm sure you can other places too.
Anyone know how long waxing lasts?

funny story
My sister is a cosmetologist and she said one time in school she waxed a lady's eye brows and ripped one right off. She said the wax doesn't always stay in the place it's put. She only bleaches now and plucks the eyebrows. I don't know about legs-anything that smells makes me gag. Lynn

Hi Jessica, when I wax my legs it last for 1 month 1/2 but in the summer it will depend on the heat (hair grows faster). Hope this help and hope to see you on friday at the Expo!
Waxing
I wax at home and I use Avons microwave wax kit to wax my legs and eyebrows I can not live without it and the kit is only about $15.00 or so and the kit last for a lot of waxings and my legs last for weeks before I have to redo them.
Avon also sells a cream that works well too and it has a good scent tropical it's not like nair with that horrible smell. If you have a avon rep all of the waxing items are on sale so you can save quite a bit if you are interested and need a rep I can give the number to my rep.
Waxing
I was going through old post and came across this one. I feel like I am the only one who does wax at home that it last less than 2 weeks... and that is if I am lucky. Usually about 1 1/2 weeks is all it works for me. I have used Veet... Works better than Nair meaning my legs done burn as much after using Veet. I want to get my legs wax but not sure if it will be worth the cost if it grows back in less than 2 weeks!

Tried once
I, too, was curious about waxing because I HATE having to shave every other day in the summer. I tried VEET because CVS had it on clearance for like $.80 a box(normally $8) and I'm not quite sure I would even pay the $.80 again. It didn't smell bad at all. In fact, there was a preperatory spray that was highly mentholated and it cleared my sinuses nicely. Anyway, the process was very time consuming and the results were fair at best but that was maybe because I'm a novice. I had patches of hair in spots but it did a good job in my trouble areas of knees and ankles, but my skin looked a little splotchy for a week or so afterward. HTH and if you try it I hope you have better results. Good luck!
