Vehicles
I drive a 4 door car- the new Nissan Altima, which was GREAT and absolutely perfect last year ( before I had a kid) ... now I wish I had an SUV Sooooo bad. My back is starting to hurt from bending over so much to put her in and take her out of her seat. I think my husband is going to sell my lease to get me a SUV, but I just wanted to let everyone know that he is a manager at GATES.... so if anyone is looking to buy a car ( new or used) let me know and I can have him start looking for whatever you want! I know tax time is soon approaching and that is when most people buy cars... So if you are interested, get in contact with me, and I can make sure he knows you are coming in and he will give you a GREAT deal!!!

Good to Know
It is always nice to know someone at a dealership whether it gets you a discount or not. It's so frustrating when you don't know anyone and trying to figure everything out. At least your "connection" can point you in the right direction. I'm newer to the area, so I don't know all the makes that Gates has, but I have a Jeep Compass and I absolutely love it. It's not as high as a regular SUV, but it's high enough that my back doesn't hurt.
hey
Hey steph- I emailed you.
But next step will be a mini van....and dont say no....it will happen. I had a car and then we got the smaller suv and now we just bought a mini van. Just wait until that second baby comes...haha.
Mini van is the way to go
Mini van is the way to go especially if you plan on more children. I had a taurus and went to the chevy astro van which is great . Seats 8 and has plenty of leg room--many of the smaller vans are space limiting compared to the bigger astros. Love and and even have room from a friend or two now.
Mini-Van
I swore I would never own a mini-van, but it is the best thing I have ever purchased. Pre-children I had a Civic, then we bought a Trailblazer after my daughter was born and I thought I liked it, until baby #2 was born. We bought a Toyota Sienna in Jan and I LOVE it! It is so easy to get the kids in and out and carry all of that extra baby stuff!
yep
Steph you might as well just go for the mini van now.
We got a 2007 Dodge grand caravan back in May and I LOVE IT. I never thought I would say I love a mini van but its great. The seat fold into the floor, door are automatic which is great, and there is so much room. When the baby is crying I can walk from the front seat to the back so I can sit behind her and feed her or whatever. They get ok gas milage too. I think ours get 21 which isnt that bad.
Ford Freestyle
I swore I'd never get a mini-van but as soon as I can afford one I'll be getting a wheelchair van for Bekka. They jack the prices up sooo high for those! Right now I have a ford freestyle, which I heard they are going to stop making and turn it into a tarus wagon. But I love my freestyle. I have the limited edition, sunroof, leather, it seats six but I always have the back two seats folded down and got one of those rubber mat protectors and I can fit Bekka's wheelchair in there without taking it all apart. It's also 4wheel drive and good on gas.
Melissa
Blessed to be Bekka's Mommy
Our miracle is Four!!
1 lb 5 ozs 13" to 30.6 lbs 38 1/2" Time sure flies!
Just Say NO!
Keep the minivans down! Go SUVs! (Hee Hee)
NEVER
I will absolutely never drive a mini-van and my husband wouldn't let me even if I wanted to. He had the 2007 Tahoe which has 7 seats, navigation and everything! That is absolutely fine with me- I'll be the soccer mom with the SUV :) Mini-van isnt for me.. im still too young for that!!!
hey hey
We are the same age...haha. and I have a mini van. I always said I would never have a mini van too and so did Jason but after the second kid and then going on a mini road trip to Wisconsin for Staceys wedding, it was time. My friend at work has a boy and twin girls and they got a 7 seat SUV and she after the twins were born she hates it there isnt as much room to walk through to get to the girls when they are crying......just wait....haha :)
I said the same thing too!
I said the same thing. I had a new taurus, loaded fully equipted when our first child was born. It was when taurus' were new on the market and they weren't cheep either. I went with a four door with thoughts that if there were kids that it would make it easier. By the time the second child was born it became a pain in the back to be unloading and loading two kids in car seats and really no room for much else with the size of the seats. We soon after that purchased the van. It makes it so nice to get to the kids, so much easier to load and unload the kids in the seats and so much more room for belongings. Now the kids are older and can buckle themselves in but the van is still great for friends and having enough room. With three kids ourselves, that makes 5, the van provides enough room for each child to take a guest if we go someplace. Enough room for the dogs to go too! Enough room to be able to do things on the go.
I love the van today with the family.... age doesn't mean a thing, its what your lifestyle is I guess. another thought.. I guess if your old enough for a family , then your old enough for a van! And beleive me things change real quick as you add another child and then you start running to activities and school events. Someday I will go back to a smaller vehicle I think!(--If I ever have grandkids I will want to have enough room to take them places)I still want my Jeep with a lift kit on it--someday I will have it !
