Hi, I am new to this site I have a 3 year old daughter and work 3 days out of the home. Maya has sucked her thumb since she was 2months old, now it's "progressed" to sticking her finger up her nose and sometimes drawing blood. She only put her finger in her nose when she sucks her finger and if I tell her to take her finger out she takes her thumb out as well. I have tried band aids on her fingers and that's about it. Any suggestions on how I can slowly wean her off of this?

nose picking

My son is a picker too :)  We usually notice it when his hands aren't busy enough....watching tv, riding in the car, etc.  I wish I had a solution to fix it.  We usually just remind him it's yucky to pick, there are germs, and we hope he grows out of it soon!

There is this Stuff

There is this stuff that you can put on their finger nails (like nail polish but its clear and drys really fast) and when they put it in the mouth it gives them a really bitter taste. I have had to do this before and it only took a few days for her to stop. I would give it a shot I think its called "Thumb sucking" Don't qoute me on it LOL but I am sure thats what it is and I think you can get it in the baby section.
