Teenage/college babysitters
What's the going rate for a HS or college aged babysitter? I have a meeting tonight and this wonderful 17 year old is coming to the house for 2 hours to watch my 3 kids...I have no idea what to pay her. Any other comments/good/bad/indifferent???? Thanks!

I talked a high school girl about watching my children. She said she would charge $4.00/hr per child. I don't know if that is expensive or not. I got lucky and found family to watch them for next to nothing.

We had been paying 5.00/hr last fall for a 17 yr old to watch my 3 and 6 yr. old. She never told us that is what she charged, we had just been asking around and that is what other parents told us. She was wonderful with our kids and we felt comfortable with her. So We thought it was steep, but paid it in knowing our kids were safe.
