Habits
Late nights or early mornings?
Submitted by jessica on June 24, 2008 - 12:12am.Do you prefer to go to bed early and get up early, or would you rather stay up late and sleep in? What's your preference, when are you most productive...mornings or night?
Normally I am a night owl, but lately I think my late night productivity is lacking! I used to be able to stay up really late and get alot done, but anymore I still stay up late but don't get much accomplished! I may have to force myself to bed early for a week, get up at 6 am, and see if I do better.
habitual spiller
Submitted by zteam on June 7, 2008 - 7:00pm.O.k. who has the habitual spillers? I'm sure by the time my kids are teenagers we won't have any finish on the tiles under the table.
Keeping food in mouth and spitting it out
Submitted by wendydaly on May 7, 2008 - 8:59am.My son, Matthew who will be two the 24th of this month has recently begun a new gross habit. He takes bites of food (on his own initiative and by request) and keeps it in his mouth. Sometimes he holds it in there for 15 min! Sometimes he'll swallow it but mostly he ends up just spitting it out... EWWWW!!! I was ignoring it and now I find myself telling him to swallow, pleading with him to swallow, etc. I've tried having him take a drink, thinking that would force him to swallow but he will just spit the food mixed with the drink out. I have never come across this before (in my 18 years of working with children) anyone have any ideas? Has anyone else's child done this? Do I need to talk to his Doctor or is it just a phase and I should ignore it until it passes?
finger sucking
Submitted by kerrypratt07 on April 27, 2008 - 9:44am.OK I am at a my wits end. How can I get my 2 year old to stop sucking her fingers? She has sucked her finger since she was 2 weeks old and I don't know how to get her to stop. She rejected the pacifier and now I am worried she is going to hurt her teeth. We have tried all sorts of things even special nail polish but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Kids playing outside by themselves
Submitted by jessica on April 23, 2008 - 11:31pm.How old were your kids or will your kids be before you allow them to play outside alone or go down the street to play with other kids?
What are you really wearing?
Submitted by jessica on April 2, 2008 - 2:46pm.Today, I showered first thing in the morning (rare for me to do!), so I'm dressed and ready! Jeans and a white tee. I had a gray fleece over it, but I got hot slaving over the stove putting tonights dinner together :)
On a normal day, I hang out in jammie pants till mid-afternoon, then I shower while the baby is napping, unless we have somewhere to go. Although, most Tuesday and Thursdays I try to shower in the morning too because I have to take Luke to school. I can't wait for summer, I have no motivation to get myself ready most days because I know we arent' leaving the house! :)
So what are other busy moms wearing today?
What time is dinner?
Submitted by jessica on March 12, 2008 - 3:11pm.My husband gets home about 5:20 - 5:30. I'd like to have dinner on the table well before 6, but I can't seem to get any cooking done before hubs gets home, so I don't usually even start until 5:30 ish. We are normally sitting down to eat by 6:15 though.
What time is dinner for your family?
Afternoon snack
Submitted by jessica on January 23, 2008 - 4:07pm.I have a routine every afternoon. While I am feeding Shawn, Luke eats his "candy" snack for the day (IF he's eaten good for breakfast and lunch), then Shawn goes down for a nap. Immediately after I put him down, I head straight for the kitchen for my afternoon pick-me-up. I trade in my afternoon snack for a Coke Zero every day! I rarely have a snack anymore because I enjoy my Coke so much, and it actually fills me up anyway.
Do you have a habit of an afternoon snack? If so, what is it?
Checking your email
Submitted by jessica on January 22, 2008 - 11:49pm.How many times a day do you check your email or voicemail?
I check my email probably 1,000 times a day! Not really, but my laptop sits on the kitchen counter, and I just push refresh every time I walk by it. I'm not waiting on anything important, I think it's just habit. My voicemail, that's another story! I rarely check my messages on my cell phone, and my cell phone is hardly ever turned on.
Making the bed
Submitted by jessica on January 7, 2008 - 11:04am.I mentioned in my last post that I was making the bed this morning, which almost seemed funny as I was typing it because we don't make our bed all the time. I've said it before, our bedroom/bathroom are the most neglected rooms in our house...no one sees them but us, so they get the least attention! I've been trying to get better about making it daily...it doens't take but 2 minutes, so it shouldn't be that hard, right?
Luke has a gate on his bed so he doesn't fall out, so it's hard to "make" his bed, but I do pull the blankets up on his bed almost daily. I think it may be time for him to start doing it himself, what do you think?
Do you make your bed every day? What about your kids, do you/they make their beds?
