Stores open New Year's Day?
Does anyone know what stores are not open New Year's Day? Hubby said he thought some places close for New Years. I have a few places I'd like to go, but I won't venture out in the snow if stores are closed.

Most places are open
I don't know of anything that is closed, maybe some smaller stores. The mall and all the big stores are open, but might have shortened hours. Good luck going out in the snow though!

I know meijers is open because that is where hubby is right now! I bet most retail stores are open.

Pretty much every store is open on New years day most of them have new years day sales.
I thought so
I figured places were open. We went out earlier around 11, and the roads weren't the best, but already well plowed! I'm glad we got home when we did because it is snowing again and looks like it may get worse this afternoon. We went to Sears Essentials, Target, Martin's and of course, Circuit City. The stores were about empty...we were the only loonies out in this weather!
