Stockpiling
I subscribe to the "Everyday Cheapskate" email newsletter, and each day there are always great tips on how to save money. Today's newsletter was a direct hit on Jessica's point from another post about cleaning out your freezer and planning your meals. I have fallen into this trap many times too and it takes a conscious effort to make sure that all of your great buys are used and not thrown out when they expire.
One of the tips I learned today is to use www.SuperCook.com and you can put in the ingredient that you have and it will search for all the possible recipes with that particular ingredient... the example I read about was a can of sauerkraut and you would probably never think to make chocolate cake out of it but that is a recipe that comes up! I have tried to do this with other sites but the ingredient search doesn't seem to be as intensive as this one because this site searches through multiple recipe sites.
How often do you try to clean out the freezer/pantry and use up the food in your home?

Hardly ever!
After cleaning out the cupboards, pantry, fridge, freezer, deep freezer, I think I filled about half of our giant trash barrel (the huge one's supplied by the city!). I found so much stuff expiring in the next 3 months, that I decided to make a list of it all, try to come up with meals to use it all up! I hope to get rid of ALL of it before starting to stockpile again, and hopefully I can keep it under control next time! Haha....I started filling trash bags and throwing them on the back porch because it was raining...I figured I would put them in the trash container when the rain stopped. Our new neighbors behind us probably thought I was packing my husband up and kicking him out! hehe :)
That is a great link, I put 2 things in the ingredients, and I found 2 recipes I never would have thought to
make, but it sounds yummy! Thanks!

cool
I hate cooking so we usually run pretty lean. But every once in a while I get the kraft foods magazine. yes funny I know. I'll buy something and then not use it and it burns me. that site sounds to good to be true. I also looked on the can of diced tomatoes once and there was a use. It was like magic. no hotdogs that night.
Cool Websites
These are some very cool websites. Can't wait to use them more.
