My daughter is feeding herself table foods and with only being 8 1/2 months old she is very messy. It doesnt matter how many bibs I take to daycare or how many times I remind them they always forget to put a bib on her atleast every other day at one the meals. So we have had alot of stained shirts with anything and everything you can think of. What is the best at getting out stains? I have tried Oxy Clean and shout and neither one is working.

try perxiode or orange spray cleaner

Oxy

Have you tried mixing the powdered Oxy with water and spraying it directly on the stain with a water bottle?  Luke spilled coffee on our fairly light colored couch and it stained bad.  Nothing took it off, until I tried the Oxy and water.

have both

I have the powdered Oxy and the oxy clean stain remover in the bottle. I normally just stray that on but tonight I then the stained shirts set in hot water in the sink with the powdered oxy clean (already tryed putting the powdered just the washer and that didnt work) it says to let set for 1-6 hours and I only let it set for about 1 hour because I had to get the bottles washed but 2 of the 4 shirts it worked with but the other two it didnt so I am going to try it tomorrow when it has more time to set.

not hot!

Never use hot water, it sets stains. I think the oxy bucket even says to use room temp or cool. I soak really stubborn stains for 2-3 days in a glass bowl of oxy and water and only met one stain that I couldn't beat. Also, if you don't have time, pour the laundry soap right on the stain and put it in the basket or washer.Lynn

hmmm....

I'd buy all white shirts and stock up on the bleach then (or all black or navy blue...something that doesn't show stains) :)

May sound strange

Two different things have worked for me and a couple other people I know. We use Woolite Oxy Deep or something like that for furniture on stubborn stains and on my husbands work shirts. My coworkers use a mixture of laundry detergent and cascade gel to get out really stubborn stains. It got mustard out of my couch. Good luck.

Cascade

What a great idea!  I never thought to use it on laundry!  I will definitley try this.  It certainly does wonders for my white stone crock pot!

Great Idea

I never thought of using Cascade, what a great Idea? I will try soak the shirts tonight over night in a bowl of cool water. I wasnt sure if you let it set longer then it says if it would ruin the clothes. My son is very neat and doesnt want to get messy so I have never had really hard stains before. Thanks everyone.

cascade

I also have heard that rubbing a powdered dishwasher soap helps tremendously with stains on clothes...something about the phosphates in the powder. I have the most trouble with hard water stains, especially on whites, and bleach doesn't touch them.

I'll try and remember to buy Cascade the next time I'm cursing up a storm while I'm folding the stained shirts I just bought :)

yea, before the profanity

yea, before the profanity goes wild try something else. The oxy won't ruin the clothes even after three days. I soak yellow pants all the time and the cleaner is corrosive so it doesn't eat away at the fabric like bleach does. And remember the stain has already ruined the garment if you can't get it out! try anything. Lynn
