I was wondering if anyone took advantge before of the Secret shopping experience; right now they are looking (retail report card]in our area for several stores like Kolh's, Ann Taylor, Lowe's, Gap, J.Crew and many more. They are offering me $1000usd for shopping but sure they have a catch some where and can't find it even in small print- well don't have my glasses with me, lol! Any advice?

Fine print
The offers that I have looked into asked you to pay a monthly service fee in order to get the information for the stores looking for secret shoppers. This doesn't mean that they will pick you, you just get the information. The price was high if I remember right (like $40 a month).

Don't ever pay for info or to sign up
I have worked with mystery shop companies to coordinate shops for my employer, and you should never ever pay anything like a monthly service fee or a sign up fee. The only thing you might ever choose to pay is to become "certified" if you wish to do so, it may or may not make more shop companies select you. However many companies have their own online training to go through before you sign up anyway and it is basically the same as being certified. If you want more information on how to become a shopper and what certification is, go to http://www.mysteryshoppersmanual.com/. I found this site to be very helpful in understanding all of the details of shops.
One thing that I should point out is that not all shops are easy for moms w/children in tow. I actually heard from a shop company that they had to get rid of a shopper because she had kids along on the shop and a situation came up that caused the shop company to find out. But apparently in this case the rules were clear and no children were supposed to be along during the shop because it does require concentration and many specific details have to be recorded from memory after the shop.
It doesn't sound legitimate
I searched that company as they weren't in my list of legitimate companies, and I found this article http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/358261/retail_report_cardcom_a_....
Typically you should earn around $10-$25 per shop depending on the price of the store/restaurant. You won't get rich but it is a great way to supplement income. If you see numbers like $1000 then you know it is likely to be a scam... too good to be true.
Thank you!
Thank you for all your imput and Julie for your good points. I will go see the link. Have a wonderful weekend mothers : )
