Scrapbooks for your kids?
Submitted by jessica on December 8, 2007 - 11:30pm.
I always feel so guilty because I had good intentions to keep up on scrapbooks for the kids, but I only made it through 3 months for Luke. I always take pictures and keep track of special dates and milestones (usually on sticky notes that someday I will have to round them all up and organize them), and hopefully someday I can finish them up! I worry that in 5 years, not only will I have less free time, but it will be so overwhelming to finish them up.
Anyone else overwhelmed with scrapbooks??

Scrap books
I have always wanted to try them but I am just not that creative.
scrapbooking
Yep I scrapbook. I did really good for a long time but I am about a year behind. I need to go to the scrapbook store (bremen has a really nice one) and get some new stuff but I never have any time. I actually got software for my computer where you can make a slide show with pictures and music and captions. I bought it about a year ago and still haven't downloaded it to my computer. I am hoping that when I am on leave maybe I will get time to do it...haha.
No
I don't scrapbook, but I admire those that do and can keep up on it. I had kept journals for each of our kids detailing each week or certain milestone days, but for at least the last 6 months I've been horrible and haven't done it at all. I know that it just comes down to self-discipline and making myself do it especially since it only takes maybe 20 minutes of my time each day, but I can always find an excuse not to do it. BUT, we do take LOTS of pictures and video tape them quite a bit and my hubby will make picture slideshow dvds every few months and correspond them with music. He'll also transfer our DVC tapes to dvd. Then we'll send the dvds to our families. It's especially nice since my hubby's family is in AZ and only get to see the kids about once or twice per year. So, even though I don't keep up on their journals, at least we do the dvds. And even with the partial journals that I have for the kids, it's still MUCH more than I have from my childhood.
Keeping up
I have tried very hard to keep up with my son's scrapbook. He is 8 months right now and I have done up until about 4 months. I have a hard time with the pictures since I take SOOO many of them (I already have 6 albums that hold 200 a piece). Needless to say I am a photoholic and a scrapoholic. Hopefully one of these days I'll be able to stay up to date, but I'm not counting on it anytime soon.
