Does anyone like to scrapbook? I've on my third scrapbook for my twenty month old and have joined Creative Memories to help with some of the cost involved with my hobby. I have sales, crops, workshops, classes and special events and was wondering if anyone would like to join my e-mail group and receive info. The next crop workshop is Friday, February 23 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. It's fun to scrapbook, enjoy yummy snacks and drinks and have an evening out!
Has anyone else taken so many pictures that they have to do two books per year of their child? I'm trying to do one for the family so that everything isn't going into my sons but that's not going so well...

scrapbooking

I do enjoy scrapbooking, but I simply don't have the time I used to!  I did start a book for my first son, but didn't make it far.  My second child, forget it! :)  I do have hopes that someday I can continue and get a book finished!  I have tons of scrapbook stuff, but my problem is organizing it all!  I almost have TOO much, and it's overwhelming everytime I would go to work on pages.  I have so many things I want to add, that I never get passed sorting through my digital pics and having them printed!  Any advice on how to be less overwhelmed with it all??

You can add me to your list.  My son is 8 months old, and he honestly drains me of every ounce of energy I have!  But I'm hopefully that it will get a bit easier once it warms up outside, and he starts to move out of the infant stage.  Maybe then I could start attending events and start to catch up on these books!

Getting organized

There are lots of products out there that can help with organization but you have to spend money on them! I periodically go through my scrapbook stuff and weed out the things I'll never use. I set them aside for a yard sale or for a crop exchange. I have to admit that the first step to scrapbooking is to develop your pictures! Right now I use Memory Manager software which helps edit, organize and store my photos. It has a really cool feature that lets you know which pictures you've developed! I do all my cropping at home and then send it to CVS' website and then all I have to do away with my toddler in toe is pick them up! CVS, Walgreens, Walmart all have these features and Creative Memories, Snapfish, etc. will mail them to you home. One thing I wish I had done is put a date on the back of my pictures so I would know how old Matthew was in the photo. Hope this helps!

mine too

For my pictures, if I right click on them, go to properties, it tells me the date.  I also turned on the timestamp on my camera.  I hate having that in the corner of every picture, but it makes it easiers to keep track of the dates.

CM

My mom bought that photo program from Creative Memories, and she really liked it.  I think my problem is I have way too much stuff.  Like you said, I probably need to go through it all and pull all the old stuff out and start fresh.  I always buy when it's on sale, but not really because I have a need for it.  Then it all just gets lost in the shuffle.  I would probably be better off paying full price for stuff, and buying for a few pages at a time, rather than stockpiling supplies that I never end up using!  I also think it's so overwhelming because I have so many cute pictures that I want them ALL in the book.

Like I said, you can add me to your email list.  My email is jessica@michianamoms.com.  Maybe one of these days I will get the itch to get going on my books again :)  Thanks for the tips!
