My son is obsessed with the Power Wheels race cars.  Of course they are super-expensive, and he's already 4, so I know he wouldn't use it for too much longer.  I'm thinking of looking for a used one for him for Christmas, but I want to see if anyone here has any reviews on them first.  Are they good quality, how long does the battery last, etc?  Thanks!

Power Wheels 4-Wheeler

We had a Power Wheels 4-Wheeler for years. It is much better than the cars or jeeps. My boys were able to use it much longer because as their legs grew longer there was room for them. My sister had a Jeep and had to get rid of it sooner because their knees were so smooshed. The battery did last as long as they did not go in the grass that much. We have passed this 4-wheeler to my nephew who just turned 4 and his brother(7) and him love it. They ride it everyday. It was a hit with all the neighborhood boys too. They were also able to have a friend or brother ride on the back with them, but make sure they wear a helmet. Many a child flipped off the back when they were not holding on. It was a great purchase!

power wheels

We were fortunate enough to have someone give us a used Jeep. We had to buy a battery - $25 at walmart, but it is rechargable. They've been driving it for 2 years now. My son is nearly 6, but the height of at least a 7 year old, and he can still fit in it fine. If you've got two young ones it might be a fun investment. I'm sure you would get plenty of good years out of it, and by the time your older son grows out of it your younger one will be ready to take the wheel!

Beware of the batteries

We bought a used power wheels jeep, but it took 2 batteries at around $25-$30 piece. They might last two years, but then you have to buy two more unless you are able to find rechargable batteries (which seem to be more common now). Since we used it for 2 kids, we put at least 5 batteries in it before we decided to sell it at my garage sale this summer because the kids had played with it enough and were getting close to outgrowing it.

Escalade

We have the escalade. We actually bought for my sons 3rd birthday and he actually doesnt use it much. He did the first month or so we had it then it got cold and the next spring he got a new bike and he would rather ride that then the Escalade. They are neat though they have working radios. He does use the radio. When he is playing basketball he will turn the radio on in that. That was one expensive radio we got...haha. They are really neat though.
