I think spring is finally here, so it's time to head outside for some fun!  What fun and creative activities do you do with your kids outside?

paint the fence

We love to paint our privacy fence with water...especially on those hot summer days. I just get out some buckets of water, give them their paintbrushes or those cheap foam ones from the craft store and we write our names, draw pictures, etc...They love it and it's fun for even the little ones!

That is great

That is a great idea. I wish that we had a privacy fence. My son just loves to water everything. So he will go out and play with water all day long.

more fun

We also use spray bottles to spray the fence and each other. For the little guy last summer, we put water in a sled so he could splash around, use his watering can,etc... The girls always enjoy running through the sprinkler.

We also like to go on nature hunts together..like I've said before, they love the grabbers! Plus, my oldest daughter is a huge "collector of nature", which has it's pros and cons. Family Fun magazine had such a cute idea....paint a huge terra cotta pot to hold her collections so she enjoys them anytime and OUTSIDE...we may have to do that this spring!

Lets' see... now that the kids are older we enjoy playing more games like soccer, kickball and whiffleball. Our little guy joins in the fun and gets to work on his gross motor skills like running, throwing, and kicking. The girls and I like to play hopscotch and drawing with sidewalk chalk. We also like just hitting a beach ball around to see how long we can keep it off the grass.

We're all about fun, yet simplicity here :)
