This is really embarassing, but we are dealing with a nose picker! :)  Anyone else's kids do this?  It really seems to be more a place to just put his finger when his hands aren't busy, because he's not really "picking."  I offer him a Kleenex and check for boogies, but nothing.  It's just something to do apparently.  I know it's something alot of kids probably do and it's probably just a phase, but I can't stand seeing his finger up his nose all day!  Any suggestions???

Funny joke my husband made up - How do you break Luke's finger?  Answer: punch him in the nose!  hehe....

Yes

My 4 year old, Colin has been a picker as well. It is getting better but it was a lot worse when he was 3. They say you aren't supposed to make a big deal about things like that and gently suggest Kleenex and stuff like that but it is hard. I told him a couple times that children who pick their noses aren't allowed to (fill in the blank) because other kids will get germs and get sick. That sometimes discouraged him if he really wanted to play somewhere. I also made him wash his hands when I saw him doing it and that is kind of a hassle for him so it discouraged him a little. However I think he probably just hides it better, but at least he might be a little more socially accepted if he isn't picking right in front of someone.

I know,

I keep wondering if he picks at school.  He's says he doesn't, but who knows.  I read somewhere you arent' supposed to make a big deal of it, but I can't just sit back and watch him pick.  Luke would love to wash his hands every time I saw him pick...he loves to play in the water! Ha!
