nighttime
Well, I need your guys help!! My 10 1/2 month old son is teething bad. His gums are really swollen. For a week and a half he goes down at about 8:30 and wakes up about midnight. If we are lucky he goes back down in his crib till about 3. At that point I just bring him to bed with us because we know he is not feeling good. This is new to us because he slept through the night ever since we brought him home from the hospital. (except for his 3am feeding). Are we handling this ok? My biggest fear is that he will never want to sleep in his crib again!!!

teething
Have you tried giving him some motrin for the pain or the over the counter teething tablets? Those might help him sleep better. I totally understand you putting him in your bed so help sooth him. I think it will depend on your son whether he starts wanting to do that every night. I put my daughter in bed with me the other night (she is 8 months). She just had a really bad cold and was waking up during the night from coughing so I put her in our bed and she slept horrible. She hates sleeping with us.
Teething
I would try giving him some orajel or some tylenol or motrin at bed time. If he wakes up in the middle of the night try putting some more orajel on his teeth and rocking him back to sleep. I bought some teething tablets for my daughter and they worked great but then I read a bunch of articles on them and the inconsistencies in the tablets so I stopped giving them to her. Good luck!!
teething
has anyone ever tried rubbing whisky on their gums? My mom did for me and my brother.
whiskey
My parents and my husbands parents continuously tell us to do it for our daughter. The say it worked awesome for us, but I can't bring myself to do it
It really works!
it actually works my niece was screaming something fierce. My sis forgot the teething gel and she was out at a bar and refused to bring it by. So i made do with what i had. just take a cotton swab and dip it in and rub on gums. Its amazing
wow
I have heard it works but I have never tried it. Its hard to bring myself to her them alcohol. The teething tablets are suppose to be all natural so there is nothing to worry about. My daughters daycare told me about them. I bought some at walmart. They dissolve in there mouth so thats another plus.
tablets
The teething tablets are all natural, but one of the ingredients is belladonna which is a hallucenogen. The tablets aren't consistent in size and shape, so the ingredients aren't consistent from tablet to tablet. There is a post on here somewhere that has a link to an article about it and I found many others. They do work great, but I was too concerned about the inconsistencies to continue using them.
drops
I've never heard of the tablets but we bought drops at martin's we ours went out of control. They are homeopathic as well and I don't know what's in them but they do work. My daughter drank the whole bottle when she was big enough to reach and she didn't even throwup.(or sleep for days;) The box is aqua and they have the disney babies on the front. we even sent them to my brother who doesn't live here. But, we always let our kids sleep with us too. Or we sleep with them so they don't get out of their beds, they all went to a regular bed at first bday. Good luck, it's tough. Lynn
website
Do you remember what the website was? I bought some but I haven't used them yet and I dont want to if there is something in there to hurt them. My daughter isnt teething yet, when my daycare told me about them I bought some to keep on hand for when that time comes...thanks so much for that information.
link
I was just looking for that thread a couple weeks ago. The link was to an article on Baby Center, but the article was no longer there. But I remember reading it and it was scary! That is the first thing I noticed when opening the bottle of teething tablets...they look like tiny Altoids and no two were alike. It wasn't like opening a bottle of Advil where every pill looks identical.
