I am looking forward to learning more about the rules and such for this site. I may be overlooking it. So, I'll ask here if you all don't mind.
1. Are we allowed to post websites and such for our home-based businesses? If so, how do we view other's?

2. How can we get to know one another on the site? Is there any way to view other people's profiles in order to get to know who's on the site?

Sorry if I sound unfamiliar, but I want to do my best at getting to know everyone is best familiar with Michiana Moms.

First of all, welcome to MichianaMoms.com! :) I am the website admin, so let me answer your questions:

You can check out the FAQ, which does inlcude posting rules for the message boards.  But lets just recap them now since we do have lots of new moms :)  First, we don't allow you to advertise your businesses as discussion topics on the message boards. We all have something we want to share with other moms, but we want to keep the boards open to discussion topics, rather than flooding it with advertisments.

However, you do have other options.  Within your profile, you can set up a signature that will show up when you post, and you are welcome to include your business in your signature.  Also, you can discuss your business in your "about me" in your profile.  You may also post a business listing in the free classifieds (which will be getting a new look very soon)!

To view other's profiles, you simply click on their username.  Usernames are displayed in bold, and that is a direct link to their profile.  Hope this helps.  Let me know if you have more questions! :)

welcome to the group. we've had a few playgroups and mom outings to meet in person. They were all fun. When I joined I just read around a while. It's interesting. Lynn

Well it is really appreciated the warm welcome I got! Thanks!

I hope I am doing this correctly by just hitting the "reply" button on the last post. I didn't think I should create another post.

Are the posts to the right the only way to get to know each other by clicking on their previous posts and right clicking on their names to see their profiles? Or is there a "user" menu so we can review users' profiles page on the forum? Sorry, if I sound uneducated, each forum is so different as for use and rules.

I love having a place to come to in order to share with other women in our local area. Michiana is a great place to live and I enjoy that women can get to know each other thru this site. Thanks to the creator and the advertisements on TV as well!

I better become more familiar with the site, so off I go!
