New meal ideas
I thought it would be fun to share your family's top 5 favorite meals for breakfast lunch and dinner. I am always looking to expand my recipe "portfolio" and get new ideas, so I'd love to hear what others serve at meal time.
Here's ours:
Breakfast:
Fruit and cold cereal
Fruit and oatmeal
Fruit and eggs
Fruit and waffles
And it's a real treat for Luke to have a pop-tart, so occassionaly he has fruit and a pop tart. Our favorite fruits are bananas, apples, grapes, watermelon, catelope, strawberries and peaches.
Lunch:
Leftovers
Cheese quesadilas
PB&J
Cold meat sandwich
Salads
-Some popular extras with lunch is usually string cheese, raisins, carrots, crackers, fruit...sometimes all of them. Oh, and Luke usually gets a few chips if he eats all of his food.
Dinner (I know, there are more than 5 here, but these are our favorites):
Tacos
BBQ Sandwiches
Spaghetti
Chicken fried rice
Roast with carrots and potatoes (beef & noodles with the leftovers)
Pasta with chicken and vegetables and some kind of sauce
Breakfast - eggs, waffles or toast or pancakes, fruit and maybe some kind of sausage or bacon
Soup - potato and beef vegetable and chili are our favorites
Hamburgers on the grill (or sometimes chicken or pork chops in some kind of marinade or BBQ)
Dinners are served with a vegetable. Our favorites are carrots, zuchini, green beans, broccoli, corn on the cobb and salad.









Meal time
Hmmm you made me thing for a minute here Jessica! We tried one new plate at least a week but after all; those are our favorites!
Breakfast-
Oatmeal with yogurt
Cereal Raisin brand
Pancake mix with different fruits each time (apples/cinnamon, peach, bananas, blueberries)
Waffles with fruits (apples/cinnamon, peach, bananas, blueberries).
Egg, has brown and maybe some turkey bacon or turkey sausage link.
Lunch-
Salads
Subway sandwich (turkey or Tuna or for winter steak)
Grill cheese sandwich
Leftovers
Cold meat sandwich
Dinner-
Home made pizza or calzone
Vol-au-vent (made with a milk base with veggies on a puff pastry shelf)
Chicken Thai
Salsa Rosa or Sundried tomato pasta
Chicken on the grill marinated with different sauce each time
Our dinners are also served with vegetables like green beans, asparagus, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, corn etc
Our list varies a lot with the seasons; we Love stews, soups and fondues, spaghetti, lasagna in the winter

These are our kid friendly meals enjoyed by most of us this season.
Breakfast-
Waffles
Pancakes (sometimes with a few choc.chips)
Cold cereal (cherrios, honey nut cherrios, Kix)
Oatmeal
Cinnamon toast
Chocolate gravy/biscuits (only once in while and only on the weekends)
Sides: banana, strawberries, or blueberries and/or yogurt
Lunch-
Grilled cheese
PB&J, PB&honey
Salami/Ham pinwheels (cream cheese spread on the cold meat, rolled, then cut)
Mac/cheese w/broccoli
Chicken salad sandwiches/mini croissants
Sides: carrots, cucumbers, salad, block cheese, pretzels/goldfish, apples, grapes, melon, dried cranberries, strawberries, blueberries
Dinner-
Penne pasta w/alfredo sauce, chicken, and/or peas/broccoli
Tacos
Homemade pizza
Breakfast (eggs, pancakes, bacon/sausage, biscuits)
Spaghetti w/salad and homemade cheesy garlic bread
Other sides we like that may or may not go with these meals: salad, asparagus, peas, corn, green beans, red potatoes, buttered noodles, broccoli and any of the fruits listed above..we may even throw in a "fruit salad" to mix it up a little)
We'll have to do another menu for the winter months because ours change as well.
Favorite Dinners
Our favorite dinners are :
Chicken and noodles (actually found the recipe for the noodles on this site, they are the best!!!)
Fajitis (steak & chicken), sometimes we buy the Tyson kits which everything is included and sometimes we use left over chicken and then cut up our own veggies
Tacos-also a huge hit in our household!
Hamburgers/Hot Dogs with french fries or tator tots
Deli sandwiches and chips
Chicken Cordon Bleu and a veggie and rice or potatoes
Steak and potatoes
Spaghetti is always a huge hit too! with a big fresh salad and garlic bread
Breakfast-biscuits and gravy usually at dinner time
I forgot...
another one of our favorites is BLT's, which is what we had for dinner tonight, yummy!! :)
favorite meals
My kids are too picky. This summer I have been letting them put together some of their own foods. Seems if they put it together then they are more apt to eat it. Things like baked potatos, fajitas, tacos, and pizzas are great for letting kids pick out their favorite toppings!
