I am trying to figure out something inexpensive I can make for my mom, grandma and step-mom for Mothers Day. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas they could pass on.
Last year I took an inexpensive, but nice looking double frame and on one side I had a picture of my daughter and on the other I did her hand print and used scrapbooking stickers to say I Love You. It turned out really good, but this year I'm stumped and running out of time.

Idea

Have you thought about one of those stepping stones with your daughter's hand prints in it? The kits are relatively inexpensive generally. It'd be something fun for you to do. You could even do her foot prints since you did hand prints last year. Or maybe put together a key chain that says grandma or whatever name they are called.

Photobooks

I made up a photo book for my mom for Christmas with my daughters pictures and also has a poem on one page. I went to walgreens.com and made it there. It was around $20 and turned out really nice. They also have cheaper photo gifts and little photo "brag" books you can make for around $5.

Stepping Stone

ooooo I think I like the stepping stone idea, they are like garden type stuff so I think that would work. The key chain is good to though, cause I could do her picture on one side or something. Thanks!

flower pots

I had my oldest son paint a terra cotta flower pot a couple years ago. I sprayed it to protect it with clear coat. We picked out some flower seed packets and a pair of gardening gloves to go inside. You could also just plant a flower for them inside too. Grandma loved that ?

Bakers Clay

You could try doing an inexpensive scrapbook. Thats what I am doing for my mom. Or you could make your childs hand prints in bakers clay. I have the recipe if you want it. Its just clay that you then bake to make it hard. You can put a little hole at the top so she can hang it on the wall or christmas tree. I carved my sons name underneath his hand too. Just let me know if you want the recipe :)

Bird House

I got an idea for our grandparents on both sides for an inexpensive Mother's Day gift at the dollar tree. I got two mini bird houses for a $1 each, then took them home, got my son's paints out and let him do what he felt was nice to each of them. He's 2, and loves to paint, so it turned out pretty good, and fun! After they were dry, I put a clear coat over each. My son had a great time, and they are both "Liam Originals"
