I had Mirena put in 3 months ago, and I must be among the "very few" that have any side effects.  Aside from completely irregular bleeding (which I understand is a common side effect) I am SO tired all the time and acne.  My fatigue is comparable to early pregnancy fatigue...I'm totally exhausted all the time.  I am known to get the occassional zit, but I'm not normally "prone" to acne.  I did switch my skincare stuff I was using and it seems to help, but not enough!

My question is this: for anyone that had side effects from Mirena, how long did it last?  My insurance doesn't cover birth control, so we paid for this out of pocket so I would hate to have it taken out, but the fatigue isn't something I can continue with for 5 years!  I'm just wondering if the side effects lessen with time?  Anyone know?

mirena side effects

I don't have mirena but I started taking YAZ birth control pill for my pmdd(premenstral dysphoric disorder)(examples: depression, acne, fatigue, moodiness) and I love it!! It has helped with all of it. I didn't even spot or have a period when I started taking it.
