Mirena question
I have Mirena put in at least 5 weeks ago. I know it is normal to spot and have irregular bleeding for a few weeks after, but I'm starting to think THIS is how it prevents pregnancy :) For those that have had Mirena implanted, how long did the spotting go on? Will it ever end?

Yes it will end!!!! And when it does you will be glad your not worring anymore....

I am thinking about getting Mirena after I have this baby. Besides you Jessica, since you're not sure yet, what do people think of it?

I spotted off and on for three months I nurse my daughter so I didn't have a period before the merina and I got my first period in 2 months after all that spotting stopped.

I RARELY have periods to begin with, so this is torture for me! Gosh, I hope this doesn't go on for 3 months....ARG!

just couple weeks
I spot just for couple weeks (around 2-3wks)and never had yet a period in 2 years. My doctor verified if everything was ok after 1month implanted. You will see soon it will be over and will not even remember you have it :)

When I had my Mirena put in after Aja was born, I was still nursing her so I never got the spotting with it. I was lucky. So I went from Sept 2004 until Nov 2006 with no period LOL. I loved it though.
I plan to get it "installed" again after this baby before I finish nursing. So I can give myself time to fully think if I want anymore children.
