Memories: Pictures and video
When Luke was a baby, we forever had the camera or video camera out. We took so many pictures, daily! We just realized tonight that the only video we have of Shawn is Christmas morning, and he's 8 months old! We do take pictures, but not near as often and not as many. We also don't get professional pics done as often as when Luke was a baby.
For those of you with more than 1 child, do you find you have more picture or video memories of baby #1 than your other children?
I feel bad, like someday I'm going to have to explain why Shawn's baby book is so much smaller than Luke's...that is, IF I get their baby books done someday :)
Only one
Bekka is my only child and I was thinking about pictures the other day. As she gets older I take fewer pics of her. I used to take some atleast once a week if not everyday.

You are right, we took less of Luke as he got older too, even before Shawn came along. But I feel bad because I have a TON of baby pictures of Luke. Really, we could probably see him change by the day based on the amount of pictures we have!

I JUST REALIZED THE OTHER DAY THAT I HAVENT BEEN TAKING PICTURES OF BAILEY AND I HAVE A TON OF BRAYDEN. I JUST GOT THE CAMERA OUT AND STARTED TAKING MORE PICTURES.

I don't even have a baby book yet for Novalee yet And not as nearly as many pics. I feel bad but I didn't even continue Kay's after her first b-day.
I think it is pretty normal for most families
I have up to about 6 months of a baby book for my oldest and only the first few pages filled out for my younger son. No pictures are organized for either one though, and I am sure we have more for the first one. I know someone that had 3 children the first two were boys and the youngest was a girl and so of course the first child had a baby book, the second never even got a book but the third girl was a lot younger and she was the only girl so she definitely got a book. But the funny part is that before the girl was born, the mom threw out the oldest son's book so the middle one wouldn't feel bad about it. It is kind of backward because only the last baby ended up with a book!
Well my husband is a camera
Well my husband is a camera freak! While we do have a lot of pictures of our first born, we probably have equal if not more of the second, the only thing is that it is usually both of them in the picture. We don't have as many individual pictures of Emily, but there are definitely a lot of them!
Now we are finding that we don't get the yearly pictures that we used to (2nd birthday, 3rd birthday, etc.) taken professionally.

I think it is pretty normal we have 2 boys Isaac 3 1/2 and Isiah is 22 months and I do notice more pictures of Isaac but I do also have lots of Isiah tooo.....we do professional pictures yearly and almost always at Christmas time....As far as the video camera we do get it out and use it probably like ever 4 to 6 months or so....but I do need to find the time to put pictures into albums and scrap books ....thats the problem they are in crates waiting on me ...just usually im too tired by night when I would be able to put them together...both of the boys have a baby book that is probably equally finished so far....It is harder with the more children people have and finding the time along with working and house work and the simple LIFE ....tasks...

Well, we get as many home photos for all of them. As I too am a camera junkie! We have a very nice 35mm camera(now adding different lenses for sporting events and such too) that takes nice photos. Although the first has a scrapbook started to her first year, the other two have piles! Yes piles of stuff for their books. Someday when life slows down I will put everyones together.
In order to help me do this I try to date the back of cards and stuff so putting them books together will be easier. Also seeing I take so many photos a year, I number the enevelop and the photos with a photo pen. My photo albums are in chronological order. If I need a photo that is in my photo albums I can pull the photo out see the number and find the enevelpe with the negitives and duplicate photo(if not given away) Has worked great especially now that the kids are doing school projects and things that they need family photos for.
As for Yearly photos.... That ended with number two, more because of cost than anything. Three kids, three visits to the studios and everyone likes the photos from home. We were just talking about getting another family photo. Its been 3 years. Its time to capture the look again.
I probably took about the
I probably took about the same amount of pictures, but then, I had twins the second time, so I felt I needed some of them separately as well. Now I take more of my girls because there is always some cute new outfit I want to capture on film and my son is going through a pre-teen stage... pimples, braces, and thinks he's too cool to smile for the camera.
Pictures
We take tons of pictures. I think I took a picture of my first in every new outfit he wore. We are on number 3 now and I try to take a lot of her too. I have noticed that the pictures of the second two kids are so much better b/c we didn't have a digital camera with the first. Now I keep taking pictures until I know I've gotten the perfect photo.
I also made a scrapbook of the first year for my first two kids. I had the scrapbooks out at their first birthday party. Now I am struggling to find time to work on number three's book and her birthday is in 3 weeks. I really want it done b/c if I don't force myself to do it now I will never finish it.
