Meat...

We are looking to buy some meat to a local but don't know anyone that sell some... Do you know someone with good meat and do not use animal-growth stimulant or antibiotic?

beef for sale come September
We will have home grown beef for sale come September. I line up the buyers here in the near future. They are steers raised for 4h projects. We do not feed any growth stimulants but they do for a short time get antibiotic as young calves in their milk. Young calves have trouble with their lungs early on and can experience some trouble that would be life threatening. The low dose of antibiotics that they get as calves is very, very small.
I do have a bit left in the deep freezer if you would want to buy a couple pounds of hamburger and a steak or two from the 07 calves.
These calves are well taken care of and provided with the very best grain for maximun meat production with little fat. Drop me a pm if your interested in giving a few pounds a try. Normally we do not have any trouble selling the meat and have repeat buyers from year to year. Normally the cost of the meat is what market is going and it averages out to a pound of ground chuck. So your steaks and everything average the same.
Thanks!
I just send you a personal message, thanks.
There is a place
There is a place in Michigan off of red bud Trail its like 15 mintues from the state line called Lowery's the address is 310 River Rd Buchanan,MI and the phone number is 269-695-3834. They have really good meat. It you buy in bulk this is a great place to go. We spent $75 and got 27 dinners. The have new york strip for $2.99 LB but the arverage weight is 15LB. So yuo buy the steak at that price for 15lbs. then they have Ground Sirloin 10lbs for $21.90. They have really good deals and really not that far away either.
A place in Waukarusa

good place to butcher
this is where we do our butchering at. They are dependable and trustworthy when it comes to butchering. Sometimes you have to question a butcher shop that does retail when your percentages don't come out as they should when you cut your side of beef. We like Martins Butchering and return with our steers every year.
Beef
As already mentioned, our 4-H St. Joe. Co. fair is a Great place to buy beef! Our kids sell their dairy beef steers every year, as with alot of other kids. It goes straight into their college fund. I know alot of parents do this. If you want any kind of farm raised animals, come to the fair auction on Friday. The fair is usually the first week of August. It's a great way to support local kids who work really hard raising these animals!
not just beef!
You can also get turkey, chicken, lamb, pork, rabbit and duck as well at these 4h auctions. For those of you unfamilar to the auction it always starts at a supporting price which is market price and goes up. Many of the kids will have a buyers group put together which raises more money that what is market price, and as always champions tend to bring a higher price and ten year member champions bring top dollar as well. Once you get into the auction past champions market price is typical.
These animals can go straight to the butcher, you call how you want you meat cut and then they give you a pickup date. You pay the auction the price of the meat and then you pay the butcher the price in which it cost to butcher and package the meat.
