Looking for friends near my area.
I am a stay at home mother of two boys. My oldest, Henry goes to all day kindergaten in New Buffalo Mi. His younger brother, Neil stays with me. I am happy and I also need some friends in or around my area. I live in Galien, MI but I am willing to meet mom's and kids for play groups in other areas. I am a little stir crazy waiting for the real Spring weather to arrive. My youngest is 2 1/2 and is very friendly, he plays with anyone and everyone that he can wrangle into a game. I am happy to have found this outlet for parents. Looking forward to hearing more of your thoughts...

Welcome to the site Kimberly! We actually have lots of registered moms from Michigan, so hopefully you can find a few who are close for weekly play groups and such. I will also be planning a few get-togethers this spring/summer at Newton Park in Lakeville (right on the corner of US 31 and US 6). Thanks for the welcome! I looked up the park you mentioned and it looks wonderful. I would love to be included and my kids would really enjoy the playground we saw online. I will watch for further info as it starts to warm up.

I've got boys too! (ages almost 3, 4, and 6) We are from Mishawaka, but have a membership at the Curious Kids Museum and we like to make regular trips there. We're due for a visit soon, so maybe some of us should plan a playgroup there!
I'm also a part of a mom's group at my church in Mishawaka and as it starts to warm up we often take Tuesday morning trips to various parks in the area. Let me know if you're interested and I can post the dates/parks as soon as I found out!

Curious Kids Museum
I remember going there when I was little and I loved it! The only thing is I was in grade school and don't really remember if it would be enjoyable for my 2 year old. Does your youngest have a good time and is there activities and areas geared towards toddlers?
They all love it!
All my boys love it ... and my 2 year old might just love it the MOST!!! There's a room just for toddlers with a water table, barn, riding toys, etc. There's also an "apple orchard" where you can pick apples (another 2year old favorite). My boys also love to dress up and pretend and the upstairs has a boat, fire truck, ambulance, spaceship, etc. all for dressing up and playing in!

Let's Plan a Playdate!
Who is it that is supposed to plan these sort of events?!? Can we just do it? I happen to love Wednesdays or Thursdays. Does anyone know when spring break is going on in that area? (It may be a busy week to go if school is out!) Maybe we could plan a Wednesday or Thursday morning during the last couple weeks of April? Or sooner? Next Wednesday??? Let's try to figure something out! What works for others?????

Anyone can plan any play groups or get-togethers! You don't need permission to form playgroups with other moms here. MichianaMoms will also plan a few things this spring/summer. But if you plan something and want to let everyone know about it, we can put it up on the calendar, feel free to create a forum topic on it, etc. :)

I am available anytime...
My 5 year old is on spring break this week. I am open pretty much any day of the week. Weekends are usually for family time, that's when my husband is home. I am willing to drive to Indiana or whatever. Guess I'm saying I'm pretty flexible and anxious to get out of the house!
Calling all mom's who are free on Wednesday . . .
If you are wanting to do something this week, I'm free on Wednesday. Anyone else???? If the weather is nice (I'm crossing my fingers) we could meet at a park and we could take suggestions from others about which one. If the weather is not nice we could go to Curious Kids, The South Bend Chocolate Cafe, or another indoor play place. Any takers??? Any suggestions???
