my 19 month old is horse crazy. all he wants to do is look at horse books and watch seabiscuit. I am trying to find a stable that will give me a half hour maybe once a week where he can interact with horses. i called one place and i think they thought my request was strange. i raised quarter horses so i know he too little for a lesson, i just want him to be exposed and be able to pet one whenever he wants till we can get some land. am i crazy? does anyone know of a place that would work with me? i moved here a few months ago so i dont know much in the area. Im in edwardsburg but am willing to drive a half an hour to get to a farm. any suggestions?

Horses

Hello Tiffany,

Welcome to the area! I am not sure but I will talk to my sister she has several horses and I think she would be up to letting you bring son by to see her horses. My daughter is seven and she was like you son and now she has her very own horse so I do not think you are crazy. When she was less than two we were picking out pumpkins and I turned around and she had climbed in the horse feild and was in the middle of 3 huge horses It's been love every since !! hehe

no-not crazy

Well, I don't think that you are crazy, but a commerical business would. They would think that the liability is off the wall. We raise paint horses along with many other farm animals. The kids show in 4h and open shows, and they have been interested ever since they were little. The kids have all learned to do chores and feed and care for the animals since they were little. Even riding in a backpack too, when we were doing things in the barn. Having respect and a good bond with horses is a special thing as well as many other species.
