I am thinking about getting a new Kitchen Aid stand mixer but they are so expensive so I want to make sure I do some research before buying one to make sure it'll be worth it. Does anyone own a kitchen aid stand mixer? What can you tell me about it? Do you love it, hate it? Think it was worth the money? Thanks!

I have one

I really like it!  I don't use it a ton, but it is really handy when I do need it.  I don't even own a hand mixer.  We got ours as a wedding gift (not even something we registered for).  I'm not sure if I would spend the money on it now though.  I think it is worth the money, but for me it wouldn't be a priority.  The only complaint I have about mine is the head on it is stationary, so when I want to take the bowl off the mixer, I have to remove the mixing blades first, then pull the bowl out.  I wish the head tilted up on it.  But overall, I think it's a great mixer, and probably worth the money if you will use it.

Mixer

I bought a GE model at Walmart, for about $25. I can remove it from the stand and even tilt it up. I have had it for about a year and no complaints. Kitchen Aid is a great brand but not in the budget. I use mine ALL THE TIME.

I don't have one but my mom does and it comes in great during X-Mas for cookies we can make a ton of cookies in no time at all. One day I will get my own.

stand mixer

We love ours and use it alot especially for holiday cooking or making more than one batch of cookies and things. We would replace it again if it ever went out, the biggest complaint would be the head too, Get the one that tilts back so you don't have to take the beater off every time(ours raises and lowers a bit but not enough to get the bowl out of the stand without messing with the beater)
And make sure that you look at the watts and how strong the mixer is. If you do alot of dough go with the biggest, strongest. We have a middle of the line mixer and when we ever replace it would go with the biggest motor because we do alot with a heavydough for a holiday item we bake

Dislike how much the mixer weighs--but its good because the mixer doesn't move either.

Good luck.

I've had one for over six years.

I've had one for more than six years, it will be seven in May. My Grandma bought it for me when I got married. I use it all the time. It works great for mixing dips that have cream cheese, deviled egg filling, mashing potatoes, bread, pizza dough, and cookies just to name a few. I esp. like it for bread and pizza dough because I don't have to knead it by hand. I grew up with one in my mom's kitchen and I don't think I would be as happy without one!

Love it

I have the professional 6qt. one my parents bought me for our wedding. I didn't use it a lot at first even though it was on my counter but I am starting to use it quite a bit. It fits right in the corner of my counter so I just pull it out and push it back when I'm done. My favorite things to use it for is cookies and mashed potatoes (it leaves them chunky like we like). I think it's a nice thing to have, but if you don't have the money for it, I wouldn't worry too much about getting one. Maybe ask for it for Mother's Day (if you don't mind getting an appliance).
