My fiance and I are getting married in about 2 1/2 weeks. I'm trying to think of a good present to get him that's kind of personal, but something he'll enjoy. He's a pilot and he's a beer fan, other than that he really doesn't have any hobbies.

Also, does anyone have any advice to help us through the tension of leading up to the wedding and first "starting off" even though we've lived together for just over a year?

I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
Cameron

My husband is a huge Cubs fan.  The year we got married, the Cubs made it to the playoffs.  I splurged and bought him tickets to the game.  Not only did we go to Chicago to see the game, we went 3 days before our wedding!  It was pricey, but he still talks about what a cool gift it was!  Not to mention, the Cubs in the playoffs....probably won't happen again anytime soon :)

You said your husband is a pilot.  My husband's suggestion was tickets to go to one of the really cool air shows.  It's not something you could give him now, but if it's something he would enjoy, he would remember it for years to come.

Advice - you will probably be so busy the next couple of weeks tying up loose ends, maybe you won't have time for tension!  Just stay calm about everything, and remember, once the wedding starts it all just flows together.  Don't stress about all the details, and ask for help for friends or family so you have less to worry about.  Personally, I think it really helps ease the transition after the wedding if you've lived together before.  For us, it went fairly smooth because we had already gotten to know each others quirks and annoying habits, etc.  We were able to enjoy the beginning of our marriage :)

Best of luck to you!!
