I was at Target in the kid's video game isle looking for a new game for Luke's Smart Cycle, and I noticed they carry Hooked on Phonics products!  They had the PreK and Kinder Learn to Read kits.  Although, they were only $37, compared to the $100 that HOP charges on their website, so I don't know what the difference is.  It had workbooks, CDs, flash cards...looked like a good deal!  Then I was browsing through the books and saw they carry the HOP workbooks separate!!   I am SO excited to see their new kits in person, without having to order online and try to return it if it's not what I thought it would be.  Not to mention, I coudln't decide between the PreK and Kinder kits.  Now I won't feel bad spending $37 for the PreK kit if Luke is already too advanced for it, and having to turn around and buy the Kinder kit...we will still use the PreK kit for Shawn in 2 years!

smart cycle

What games does your son like for the smart cycle? We just bought my sons for him in September for his birthday and he really didnt care for it. we bought the spongebob game. He seems to like the v smile better. Last night he asked to get out the smart cycle and he liked it this time so I wanted to get him some new games. I remember when I got the spongebob game they had a hot wheel one, I wonder if that is any good.

Smart Cycle games

Right now we only have the game it came with.  We didn't want to invest in other games if he didn't like it, but he does so we'll get him a new game for it.  I saw the Hot Wheels one, which he LOVES Hot Wheels, but the age on it was 4, so I wonder if we shouldn't do another 3 year game for now.  The only bad thing about the SC is they don't have but maybe 6 games for it.  The Smart Cycle was brand new in July when he got it for his birthday, so I hoped by Christmas they would have new games.  Oh well!  What is the age on the Sponge Bob game?  What is the learning concept of it?

SMART CYCLE

SPONGEBOB GAME- i WALKED INTO THE ROOM AFTER MY SON AND HUBBY HAD ALREADY STARTED. NOT SURE IF THERE ARE MORE GAMES BUT ONE THAT HE WAS PLAYING WAS LIKE A RACE TRACK AND ON THE TRACK ARE DIFFERNT THINGS YOU GO INTO (LIKE LITTLE GAMES). HE COULD DO ALL OF THEM BUT TWO OUT OF LIKE 10. I AM SURE ONCE HE STARTS PLAYING IT MORE HE MIGHT BE ABLE TO DO THOSE TO.i AM SURE YOUR SON WILL BE ABLE TO DO IT. HUBBY TOLD ME HE COULDNT FIND THE GAME THAT GAME WITH IT WHEN WE BOUGHT IT. I KNOW THE V SMILE GAMES HE PLAY IS 3-5 AND DOES FINE BUT I WANT TO GET HIM SOME 4-6 YEARS OLD ONES. I LIKE THAT SMART CYCLE, GIVE THEM SOME EXCERISE IN THE WINTER WHEN THEY CANT RUN OUTSIDE. I KNOW HE PLAYED IT FOR A HOUR STRAIGHT LAST NIGHT AND WAS TIRED WHEN HE ENDED.

AS FAR AS EDUCATIONAL I THINK V SMILE IS MORE EDUCATIONAL BUT LIKE I SAID THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN PLAYING WHEN I GOT DONE CLEANING THE KITCHEN SO I AM NOT SURE IF THERE ARE DIFFERENT GAMES THEN THE RACE TRACK ONE.

Website

I just looked on Targets website and HOP is $65!  Now I'm really confused!  haha :)  I wonder if it's something different, if they have the price marked wrong, or what?  I'm about to go back and buy it so I can compare it to what's online.  ARG!
