Okay I know girls can be moody but this is crazy! One minute she is as sweet as can be and the the next her lips are fapping and words are flying out and I don't know how to handle her. Sometimes it starts over something as simple as "have some cereal for breakfast" her reply.. HHHH I don't like that cereal and I had to eat it yesterday!!! Can't you buy anything GOOD????! MY LIFE SUCKSSSS!!! Then I get angry and tell her if her life sucked so bad she would have this or that and there are a lot of kids who don't even get to have cereal... well on and on. I'm sure you get the picture. She is only 11, what is in store for me when she hits puberty? Is this normal, Her twin sister dosn't act that way. I know every kid is different but her attitude is so volitle sometimes I am really worried something else might be going on. My husband says its just a phase but I'm not to sure. Any suggestions? Okay here is another episode that JUST happened. Kenz called a friend up to come over, friends mom said not today, Kenz starts yelling at ME like it is my fault her friend has plans. What's up! Help

Friends

Maybe it's the group of friends she has or just having a rough time with herself especially growing up in todays society maybe you should get her a journal to write down her feelings and that could really help her I know when I was that age it helped me.

Daughter's possessed

I know exactly how you feel----except our
daughter was sixteen when she started acting possessed!! I still wonder sometimes if something isn't wrong with her! But older mothers chuckle and re-assure me it's a phaze.I really wondered if she wasn't bi-polar!! I swear if her head could spin, it would! But the more I see of her growing up,she's just very immature yet. She's now 17 (going on 30, she thinks!), I think I see some improvement. Getting a job has helped her BIG TIME. She has to take orders from someone else besides mom and dad! Welcome to the real world!!! Hang in there!

Thank you for the imput.

Thank you for the imput. You know, I have wondered about depression or even bi-polar but I don't know what to do about it. I hear her talk about a few girls at school who have "problems" and how wierd they act and I don't want to make her feel strange about herself. I have talked to our doctor about a few things and she said not to worry but we have a family history of mental illness so I do worry. What did you do to rule out any mental issues?

Depression

I know that this girl who was only 16 commit suicide so you really have to be careful with girls and boys growing up these days they need all the love and attention they can get

hormones?

Could it be pre-teen raging hormones?  I'm not 11, but I know some days I feel like I could explode over the smallest things, and I know my hormones are still out of whack after having my son 12 months ago.  It certainly wouldn't hurt to call your family doctor or make an appt to rule out something more serious.  I read on familydoctor.org that girls can start puberty around 11 years old.

can be!

My best friend at school had her pre-teen raging at 11 and I remember she felt miserable because she was the only one feeling that way but with the help of her doctor, mother and friends she went true easier and did not felt alone. That can be an option but if you see that she “enjoy” to be angry or affront you then I would see a psychologist or any help from the school…you just never know and better be safe.

I don't have a girl but my son is almost 11. I helped out this year in his class alot and I noticed alot of the children that age tend to be like that. Unfortuanley, I think your STARTING the puberity age. Since children tend to mature early then we did due to nutrtuion and hormones in their diet our children are becoming raging balls of hormones around 10-11 (Fourth grade). Even if they aren't as moody as some they have plenty of classmates that have enough hormones to go around for 8 hours a day. Hopefully with summer break things will ease up for awhile. My number one tip to help ease the tension is not to feed into the rage and drama. Just let her know you are there for her if she needs to talk about ANYTHING. It may be something as simple as someone is bugging her and she is taking out her frustrations towards others. Even the priest at church said yesterday "unfortunaley our children are growing up in a society that is more harmful and tempting then when we were kids. The best thing you can do for them is let them understand who THEY are and that we love them!"

I have two boys and the

I have two boys and the oldest is turning 12 in about 2 weeks. He hit his puberty stage very early! So early the doctors sent him to Dayton Children's Medical Center for testing. He is almost my height, the voice has started to change the mood swings! OMG! No not just girls have them. Boys do to. One minute he is sweet and caring the next minute he is beating up his brother so bad and just being mean to me.One day he wants to stay in his darken room all day and the next he wants to go to the pool with us and play around. Never know what his mood will be for the day or how long it will last! And then we moved here from his friends to another state. Like the others say just be there for her. That is all I can do for him. I tell him I love him and I am trying to understand his feelings. Keeping his busy does help. If you need to talk just message. I think anyone who has a child this age or older will understand for sure.
