Are there any 40ish moms out there? I feel like I am the oldest one on this site. I would love to hear from some other 70's kids out there.

Hi! I'm an old fart! I'm 45 and married too many years to my husband Greg. We have three girls. I'm now realizing what my mom meant when she said " paybacks will be hell" Raising teenage girls is scary!! I don't remember being this sneaky! But I also had a healthy fear of my father, also along with alot of respect! Kathy
Turning 40!
Well, I had trouble deciding which topic to post to. I am turning 40 in the fall! So I guess that means I am a 40ish mom! Yikes time sure does fly after getting married and having three kids. Not enough time in a day. I was feeling a bit older on the board as well. Not so bad I guess. My kids are 6, lets just say 9, and 11.

I turned 42 in Dec. My 40th was the hardest birthday! I kepp telling myself that 42 is only a number. I still have a hard time accepting that I am over 40. It is nice to hear that there are some moms my age on this site. I was feeling pretty old. My kids are 13, 11, and 9. I don't know if there is a spot on this website for handling teenagers or not. My 13 yr old sounds like a 2 yr old because I will ask her to do something and she says, "why?" or some days she will growl or grunt at me. I can't get my 9yr to be quiet long enough and he talks non stop. My 11 yr spends most of his time in his room. Trying to get them to all agree on anything is nearly impossible. It's crazy! Glad to meet you also. Have a great Thurs. My kids start spring break on Mon. ahhhhh! Take care. Sheila
Gruntting and growling!
We have the gruntting and growling issue too! I feel like I am dealing with one of the animals sometimes. We had conquered the problem last year and it has resurfaced again. So frustrating. It is not that she can not speak English!
Glad to meet all of you. I will email Jessica and maybe she will add a topic for teenage conversation. (update-emailed Jessica!)
update update! Jessica confirmed that she will add a formun topic for teenage conversation of some kind! Watch for it! I need to learn too as my oldest is on her way to becoming a teenager! Yikes!Help me now!

Hi. I will be married 20 yrs in Aug and have 3 kids. Katie is 13, Tim is 11, and Peter is 9. I am 42 and boy do I feel it somedays. My dad always said paybacks are hell too. Now I tell my kids, "I hope your kids will act the way you do when you have kids."
I still can't believe I am 42. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago. Nice to meet you! My daughter does not even know who Donny Osmond is. That's scary. Have a great rest of the day. Sheila
40 ish
Wow! Am I the oldest mom here? I didn't feel so old turning 45 this year, but I feel bad now! Our daughters are Bobbi-17, Hannah-14 and the sweet one yet-Grace is 8. I don't remember being so moody. We had horses growing up and were always outside riding or doing something. (like chores) Our kids have livestock in the St. Joe. fair and act like doing chores is prison work! My oldest sister says we as a society spoil our children, when I asked her where we went wrong. I tell her our kids aren't spoiled. They don't have cell phones, elec. gadgets or their own tvs. But then she reminded me of how we walked a mile to the bus stop ( in all weather), we rode our bikes to our barn twice a day to take care of our horses in the summer, we always had supper started when our mom got home from work. I DRIVE our kids to the bus stop. I do the laundry for them yet. Alot of this stuff we did growing up as kids we had to with both parents working. My husband and I work--why are we so soft? Kathy
I don't think so
Actually, I think we have a few older than 45, and I know we have several grandmas here too :) Welcome!

going on 42 and with two LITTLE ones!
I think I may be one of the oldest on these boards with the youngest kids! I'll be 42 in August and my son is 3 yrs old (just last month) and my daughter is 15 months old. By evenings, I feel my age! Our kids keep my husband and I moving, that's for sure. My husband is actually 44 yrs old! :)
