Heart kids
Does anyone else have a child with heart defects? We have a little guy who has a mitro valve that we just have to watch closley. He did have Coarctation of the Aorta but has been corrected. How are the Pediatrict Cardiologist in South Bend or do you just go to Riley?

hi my son had a whole in his heart but has now closed on its own. he still has valve that needs to be watched. he see's doctor caprarya peds cardio doc i am not sure if that is how you spell the name but if you are interested i can get you the phone # he is really nice to my son.

My niece did she had a separated valve and it corrected it's self by age 1

Yes I have three kids and my youngest we born with an Interupted aortic arch (repaired), small aorta (repaired), Large VSD (repaired), Small left ventrical (better after surgery), and a bicupsid aorta. She was undiagnosed and went into Congestive heart failure at five days old. She was flown to Riley and Dr. Brown fixed her up really good! We Love her so much. Anyways I can't help but tell a little of her story as she is my hero. Well we see Dr. cappanari and we are happy with him. I like it there because it is a small office and he goes over everything write then. I do know other families that still see the Riley Docs as they come into town once a month. I also wanted to let everyone know that there is a new group here in Michiana for families and caregivers of CHD children. It is great. How old is your daughter now?
It sounds like she's been through alot! I can see why she is your hero :) Thanks for posting about Heart Kids and letting others know about this resource. Jennifer also submitted information, and we posted it in the Support Resource section of our website in case someone needs to refer to it later. Thanks for sharing your story about your little girl.

3 going on ???
She turned three on Dec. 9th. We just got done making cookies together and it is the best feeling in the world to love a child so much that tears come to your eyes even when your doing something like just baking cookies. This time of year brings back many emotions. Mostly I recal of course her problems and hard times but second of all I just remember being at Riley and all day every days people bringing donations in red wagons for all of the children. They were so kind and giving that we really found the true meaning of Christmas.
