Garden

We decided to start a small garden this year. This is our first year to start this. We have picked the spot and cleaned it out over the last couple of days. When I was growing up my mother had a garden and we would help her. She still has one and my son helps her all of the time. He loves going in the garden to help her.
Does anyone have a garden? If so, what do you plant?

Our garden
My husband and I do. We plant tomatoes, serrano peppers, jalapeno peppers, green /yellow/red peppers, onions, cucumbers, tomatillos (small green tomatoes for salsas), cilantro, and squash. This year we have made the area a little larger to plant more veggies. We love it and not to mention, it saves us so much money at the grocery store. The kids enjoy helping out too so the whole family can get involved.
No garden
My yard is WAY too small. Our back yard is only about twice the width as my son's swingset (from the back of our house to the neighbors property line)! I would love to have a garden someday, and if I did I would plant tomatoes, carrots, zucchini and green beans (my favorite), and cabbage. My grandparents had a garden growing up, and I also loved to help out with it.
How big is your garden? What do you plan to plant?

What to plant
Well this is my husbands idea so I am letting him run with it. He wants to plant strawberries, sweet corn, green peppers, tomatoes, hot peppers, zucchini. I want to plant some pumpkins next to the fence and have them grow up that. I am hoping that we will be able to can some tomatoe sauce and salse. My mother does that all of the time.
My garden is not very big. We also have a very small yard. But we are going to try and see what we get.

garden
When we lived in Idaho we had a good sized garden. I'm missing it now. This is our first summer here and our new yard is smaller and very shady. I'm going to plant some onions and a zuchinni plant in the back but I'm going to do a lot of container gardening. My deck is large and has some good sun on part of it. I'm going to do tomatoes, cucumbers and green beans. I might do peppers depending on how much space I have.

pumpkins
we plant by the farmer's almanac planting schedule and do ok with pumpkins only. I seem to kill everything I touch. The kids love looking at them as they grow.Lynn
no garden here either
I would love to plant a garden, but like some others, our yard is not big enough either. When we move and hopefully have more yard to work with, I will plant one. My girls love helping out my dad who is an avid gardener and has been since I was little. He has downsized his garden to cucumbers, green peppers, tomatoes, and zucchini. Growing up, he used to plant watermelon and pumpkins, but they need a lot of space to grow, so he doesn't plant those anymore!
Good luck with it!
