Entertaining guests

When you are entertaining guests, would you rather go out somewhere or have them in your home?

We usually have my husband's friends over at our house for sporting events several times a year, but other than that, I would probably prefer to go out.  The football games are usually cookout events anyway, so not too much work at all.  But if we go out, there's no cleaning up the house, planning a menu, cooking, and getting the kids in order.  Lazy me, but I'll take the easy way out :)
