cleaning houses-hmmmmm
OK- right now I am at a good company, but I am not truly happy. I am happy with my position but not with my boss. I dont know if walking on egg shells is the place where I want to be. I have thought in the past about cleaning houses but now, I am really thinking about it as it would be a way that I could set my own schedule, spend more times with the kids and be less stressed out. Is anyone in the business already? Do you like it? I also thought it would be away to work out additional stresses! :)
Please send me your thoughts as I may want to head in the direction of clean!

Wow...
You sound EXACTLY like me!!! I've been in the same boat with my employer. I've thought about cleaning homes as well, the benefits of it sound great. There is a website (www.sittercity.com) and you can post a profile for cleaning homes (as well as babysitting, tutoring, and pet sitting). It might be a start if you want to start off small and see how you like it.
Good Luck :)

I have been cleaning houses for the past three years and let me tell you, the business is slow right now. I have been asvertising and advertising and people just can not afford it right now. I have lost several clients lately and they all have had the same story, (they have to cut their budgets and usually the first thing to go is the housekeeper) so if you have a job, hang on to it because cleaning houses is not a full time income. I am lucky, I have a salary, full time job that I do 40+ hours a week and the houses I do on my days off. I do work 7 days a week and it does get very overwelming sometimes but the extra income really helps. One thing I have learned in the past is, being a housekeeper is only temporary. Clients will let you go without notice due to finances, moving, family matters, etc. So like I mentioned before, the market is very slow right now due to everyone trying to save their budgets so if you have a job, it may be worth keeping right now. Just a piece of advice from someone who is experiencing the downside of things.
OH>...I can relate...
I have cleaned homes for 4 years now and yes I do notice cut backs and Penny is right housekeepers are the first to be cut with this crazy economy....I have done my own in home day care and cleaned 2 granger homes and another home for 4 years and they are saving for a cruise so at no notice I was cut for a while and still havent cleaned....so my advice is it is not a dependable income....what so ever...it is convenient....because you can schedule when you would like and work around your children etc...I sure do MISS the MONEY...because it was great but finances in this day in age are getting very scary ....maybe the clients are realizing how much they can save if they just do it theirselves...but this is my thought...and yes if you have a permanent job it is much worth keeping due to the cut of MAIDS now a days...
