Hi,

Does anyone know which churches have bible study with childcare?

I would love to find a church that has a bible study class for adults. I need one that has child care while I do this. I live in Mishawaka. Does anyone know of any churches that offer this. I am not married to my boyfriend and our last church told him we were not welcome, because I was pregnant. I would like a church in Mishawaka or very close by due to gas prices.

Thanks
Melissa

Great Question

With us just moving back to this area after I have been gone for 12 years and to be honest as a child we never went to church (except for a few Christmas) my husband and I both wish to get into some adult bible classes... but ones that don't make you feel stupid due to you were not brought up in a church. My husband was brought up Catholic but like he says... he is so confuse about things. So I would love to see the results of this. Right now we are "shopping" around for a new church.

Bible Study Fellowship

How old is your child? There is a class that meets during the day on Tuesday's from 910-11 am it's on the southside, Trinity. It has a class for women and class for kids 2 and up. It runs from Sept-May. It's great. I have been taking my daughter for a little over a year and it's great!! give me call and i can tell you a little bit more in detail. check out the website 252-5286. www.bsfinternational.com (not 100% sure on the website address). They also have a night class that meets in granger for women and children that are in 1-12 grade from 655-845. Feel free to give me a call, I have nothing but good things to say about this class!!

church and babies

My daughter is almost a year. Any classes that have child care for babies. I am looking for a job at the moment, so most of my time is free.

Westminster Presbyterian Church

Our church has some adult bibe studies starting. I will check on times & dates. I think we are trying to see if there is a need for childcare. We have a bible study that is very casual and goes over the scripute of the week for our Praise Service. ( It is very, very laid back, come as you are jeans ,or shorts and flip flops are cool! It is a very open and small worship. We have an awesome band, and it is great) It is every saturday night at 6:30 pm, and lasts till the 7 pm Praise Service starts. It is not a commitment type Bible Study,or one that you need a book for, but it is a good way to review scripture and give and hear peoples inputs and questions. I love to listen so this is a good one for me. Kids are welcome of all ages, this is not the type of service where you have to put them in sunday school, they are welcome to sing and dance. (mine do)Also, our 10 am ( sunday) church has chidcare/ sunday school during the service for children up to age 12. It is a more traditional service, but we never turn anyone away! Christ didn't, Why should a church? Need more info or directions, pm me.

First United Methodist, Mishawaka

We have bible studies as well. Some great ones are Weds. evening following a dinner. Everyone is invited. They have children's programs too. Sunday mornings at 9:00 others are offered. Good ones like getting to know your bible, what does it mean to be a christian and topics that make sense of life. Our pastors are very inviting and the young families are too. Some of the elders are cranky but I think that's a cultural problem (children should be seen not heard). pm if you'd like to know more! Lynn

St. Mark Missionary Church

During the summer months our church's programs (especially those involving kids) are more relaxed. During the school year we have a great moms group that meets (there is childcare available) on Tuesday mornings. We also have a variety of classes offered on Sunday mornings (these topics change, so I'd have to let you know later) and there are programs for all ages on Sundays as well. Many small groups also meet in people's homes for fellowship/prayer/bible study. Many of these welcome families and do provide childcare. pm me if you are interested in any more information. It is in downtown Mishawaka

I go to FUMC as well, and it is on Church & Third Street across from the post office/libraries. There are a lot of small group programs too, so if you want to try a small group there is usually a series of lessons for 8 weeks or so and then a new topic will start. Generally most of the small groups are not based on any previous lessons, so it would be great to try one out for 8 weeks or so and see what you think. We don't have them in the summer, but they will start up again mid September. You can check out our web site at www.fumcom.com.
