Huggies

So we've been really busy this past week and we wanted to take Luke out for some fun tonight...he's been pretty good all week and we wanted to reward him.  My nephew had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese a month or so ago, and Luke had fun, so we thought he would enjoy it....plus we had some tickets and tokens leftover.  We ordered our pizza and decided to play a few games while waiting on our food.  The place was so crowded, and the kids were running wild!  On our second game, I was standing next to the race car he was driving, and I was holding the cup with his tickets and tokens.  Out of nowhere, this kid runs up to me, stuck his hand down in the cup, grabbed a handful, and tried to run off...I grabbed it all back from him and he took off...couldn't have been more than 6 or 7.  We ate and decided to play a few more games.  This little girl (maybe 4 years) kept hovering, and eventually kept poking at the button on his game...I finally had to tell her to leave.  She then asked if I would give her some tokens.  Less than 2 minutes later she was back, paced around behind us for a minute, then just took the tickets right from his machine....I took them away and told her to find somewhere else to play.  THEN, we were playing ski ball and this kid was asking my husband if he could have some tokens.  He said no, so he moved on to the kids next to us....he waited till the kid wasn't paying attention, and he just took the kid's tickets right out of his machine and walked away!  I couldn't believe it!  He turned around and noticed I saw him...he stared me down and just walked away!  The kid was probably only 7 or 8!!  What is wrong with people???  Why didn't any of these kids have any parents around???  And why the heck are they all running around and mooching and STEALING from people?  My husband and I left feeling so paranoid that we were going to get mugged....by KIDS for cying out loud!  We kept checking to make sure we had all of our belongings...wallet, keys, etc.  The restaurant was so dirty anyway.  We WON'T be going back anytime soon!!!  Anyone else have any thoughts on Chuck E Cheese?  Any bad experiences, or good?

It's disheartening!

I, too, experienced something of this sort when we were at Chuck E Cheese for a party a while back. I sent my 4 year old out with about 3 dollars worth of tokens and she came back to me a couple of minutes later and her cup was empty and she didn't have any tickets. I asked her where her tokens were and she said that some kids told her to share them. Then, my daughter seemed to think that that behavior was acceptable(because older kids were doing it and not being punished) and wanted to ask other kids for their tokens. She was quickly corrected in her thoughts. Well, needless to say, we left that day with a little insight on what the future holds with the generations to come(very sad!). The food there is far too subpar for the price and the cleanliness leaves something to be desired(although it is cleaner after the recent renovation).

I cannot stand that place the children are rude the parents are rude there is way to much trash that goes there and the parent slet there children run wild.

Little kids stealing, that is so scary!

We have only taken our oldest to Chuck E Cheese twice when he was really little, once was for someone else's birthday party. Both times he was under 1 1/2 so he doesn't really remember what it was like. I have thought at times about taking the kids there, but I definitely don't want to deal with a bunch of bratty thieves. My older son has been to Mega Play for a birthday party and loved it, he keeps wanting to go there again but after hearing how dirty it is we might have to keep searching for somewhere else that is fun for the kids.

Stealing

The scary part was he acted like a pro at it.  Wasn't like he just wasn't old enough to understand that it wasn't right, he walked over to the kid, acted interested in his game, swiped the tickets, tucked them close to him and turned around and just walked away like nothing!  And Chuck E Cheese wasn't the cleanest place in the world, but we probably still would have gone back if it wasn't for the REPEAT stealing and begging for tickets and tokens.  We too will be looking for somewhere a bit more "upscale" to take our kids.  I'm not paying that much for gross pizza and video games and have to deal with that!

We went about 7 or 8 months

We went about 7 or 8 months ago on a Saturday night with some friends and there kids and we had the same horrible experience. The kids just dont behave, and I swear it seems like kids just drop there kids off and leave. I saw so many kids with no parent anywhere. I also had 3 kids ask me for tokens. I swore we were never going back but we did.. :) We went on a wednesday night on my sons 4th birthday. It was so much better. No kids running all over the place it was clean. We have a much better experience this time. I will never again go on the weekend but we might go again during the week. My husband and brother wants to open something like that in Plymouth.

Sunday

We heard that it's a great place to go on a Sunday morning around 11ish...while people are still in Church!  IF we do go back, we will hit 4:30 Mass on Saturday, then Chuck E on Sunday morning.   It's sad really, because there isn't alot like that to do around here, and then you have people who send their kids off by themselves ruining perfectly good fun for those of us who try to teach our kids right from wrong.  You will have that no matter where you go though!

It's horrible

My brother had his daughters B-day party there just last year and when it was time to cut the cake we had about 3 kids come up and ask for some one of the little girls couldn't have been older then 3 and there were no parents to be found sometimes I think parents just drop there kids off and leave and let them figure out how to get tokens and tickets sad part about it is when the kids get old enough there going to think that's the way to get things you need.
