Your "carbon footprint" is the amount of greenhouse gases you and activities produce over a year, measured in tons of CO2. Becausewe rely on so many goods and services to support our power hungry lifestyles, out footprint includes emissions from industry, agriculture, transportation, forestry, power generation and buildings. The average American's footprint is 26.5 tons. Australia's is 28 tons per person. Go to carbonfootprint.com to calculate your carbon footprint. You will be amazed!

Carbon

Actually I think that's inaccurate and pretty stupid.

I took that word for word from the National Geographic Green Guide the Spring 2008 issue page 68. You can go to the green guide online. The article it came from is Lose 142 pounds of carbon in a week.

Very interesting. I ran our carbon output for a family of five and we are low for family on a farm too boot.

I do believe that things affect the earth, but don't totally agree with the green house effect. They say the temps are getting warmer, yet you look at averages temps and they seem to be on the average "lower". Now for us in South Bend, our temps are fairly the same if not the lower catigory, it is our precip. that is running low(until this year) and then it also has its patterns that it follows. Ups and downs.

We try to conserve but I think we could do better.

Carbon Footprint

We were very concerned about our carbon footprint and have done several things to reduce the carbon footprint we are producing. The biggest thing we did was to search out all natural and eco friendly products. And I don't mean the ones you see on tv. These companies have been posioning us for yrs. We found a wholesale club where we buy all of our household products, other personal care products and supplements that work now. They are less expensive than Walmart, concentrated, they work better and we have reduced our footprint, saved money and feel better. Anyone interested in more info can e-mail shelley46614@att.net
