Beef and noodles

Description
Very simple and yummy. Crock pot or stove top.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chuck steak or roast
- 1 pk noodles(any will work)
- 1 pk au jus seasoning
- 2 c water
Instructions
Crock pot:
1. Mix Au Jus seasoning with water.
2. Put Au Jus mixture into crock pot.
3. Put Chuck steak/roast into crock pot.
4. Cover crock pot.
5. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
6. Approx. 20 minutes before your meat is done in the crock pot, cook noodles on stove top according to package directions.
7. Take a spoon and break up the meat in the crock pot.
8. Mix noodles into the meat.
9. Season to taste.
Stove top:
1. Brown meat on all sides in a dutch oven or fairly large pot. You may need to use a tbsp. of cooking oil.
2. Add water to Au Jus powder and mix.
3. Add Au Jus mixture to the meat.
4. Increase heat to med-high and bring to a boil.
5. Once boiling, cover and reduce heat to simmer.
6. Simmer for about 45 minutes.
7. Break up the meat with a spoon, or remove and cut to liking.
8. Add uncooked noodles(you may need to add a little bit more water to keep the noodles from burning).
9. Cook until noodles have reached desired doneness.
10. Season to taste.
11. Depending on how much additional water you added, you may need to add a beef bouillon cube.
Notes
You can cook the noodles with the beef in the crock pot if you wish, but they usually seem to soggy for me. They turn out well if I add them half way through, though.
You can also add mushrooms or carrots if you like. Add those at the beginning.
You could also choose to cut your meat prior to cooking if that would be easier, but I feel that the tenderness and juices are better retained if the meat is cooked whole.
