Yes

Teething can cause a variety of "symptoms."  Teething has/does interrupt sleep for my 14 month old.  If he is being unusually fussy about eating, it could also be teeth coming in.  My son also gets a runny nose and cold-like symptoms for a day or two when he has a new tooth on the way.  Teething is different for every kid....my oldest didn't act like it bothered him one bit, but it's very obvious with my little one when his chompers are bugging him.  He is working on his 3rd or 4th molar right now (I can't tell how many for sure because I get bit every time I try to feel :), so I'm hopefull we will be over the teething stage soon!  It's a tough time, good luck!

Suggestion

I know some people are against meds to help a teething baby, but for us it has been a sure-fire way to help him on the occassion where nothing else will make him happy.  We do Tylenol during the day if he acts like he's bothered by it, and Motrin at night.  Motrin seems to help much more than Tylenol, but I believe it is also stronger, which is why I opt to use it at night.  Tylenol at least seems to take the edge off during the day.  At night, everyone's sleep is vital, so we use the good stuff :)

I have heard some people rave about Hylands Teething Tablets, but I believe someone posted a really scared article here once about them, and I never again opened out bottle of Teething Tablets.  The link to the article has been removed from BabyCenter, but I believe it had something to do with an inconsistency in the amount of Belladonna found in each individual tablet.
