Affordable Food for the Family
I have been reading the discussions on here about how to save money on food and wanted to add to the conversation. Last year, my cousin told me about a service called Angel Food Ministries. The purpose of the service is to provide food to family for $30.00 a week. The way the program works is that you find a church near you offering the service (you don't have to belong to that church). You pre-buy your food for the next month either through the website or by contacting the church directly. When the food arrives, you have to go pick up the food. They also offer add on packages; for example, a variety of meats for cooking on the grill for $18, which seemed like a generous supply. The menus change from month to month and the add-ons also vary. The website is www.angelfoodministries.com if you are interested.

Angel Food
Our church in Ohio did this. We did order one time from it. Although you saved money, my family hated about 1/2 of what was in it. So we just clip coupons, shop Alida, and watch sales really close. I know other people who got it and like it well enough. I guess it depends on your taste buds.
