It was my day off and at that time I was still in a awful little apartment, So I was at the laundry mat doing laundry that I dreaded doing. I had several loads in the dryer and was waiting for them to dry when the oldies station that was on interrupted in news of the first tower being hit. I remember thinking it was just some fake joke of a story made up by the morning show, when the attendant there turned it up to hear it better. I grabbed my wet clothes out of the dryers and ran home to turn on cnn, no sooner did I get it on and witnessed the second plane hit tower 2.
I think I started crying and calling my family, I cant remember ever feeling so afraid and vulnerable. To this day its as fresh to me as the day it happened.

I was some from school that day. We had testing and since I already passed I didnt have to go school until somewhere around 11 so I was still sleeping. My mom called from work and woke me up. She told me to turn on the TV. I was young so I didnt know alot about the trade centers but I knew what I was watching was absolutely horrible. I just cried. To watch someone do that to all those people just broke my heart. All the fireman, police officers, just anyone that help and put there live on the line. Its just amazing how all those people jumped in and helped without even thinking about it. I was listening to B100 this morning and they had some great tributes.
Thank you to everyone that helped and my prayers with everyone that lost a loved one on that day.

I was working in Radiology back then and we got absolutely no radio reception. My fiance called and told me to go find a TV and told me what happened. I told everyone in my department and it's like time stood still... employees, patients, visitors everyone was huddled around the TV in the ER waiting room. My heart, thoughts and prayers continue to go out to everyone.

I was away at school in Ohio and I can remember that it was so quiet on campus. Generally campus is busy and loud and you have to nearly fight for a spot in the commons. Not that day. You could hear a pin drop. It was almost scary.

I was a senior in high school and we didn't have school that day. I was online IM'ing a friend and he told me and then my mom called me from work. I remember being so scared and so scared that I was home alone. It was sooo sad! I also remember the gas prices and I was waiting in line on Ireland Road to try to get to the BP Station to fill up my tank. The line of traffic was outrageous but yet I still waited. I remember my car started to steam and I had to pull off in someone's driveway. I waited for my parents to get there and as I was waiting a group of teenage girls drove by and started yelling names at me and laughing at me for my car breaking down. I had never felt so embarssed but then I realized they should be the ones to be embarssed and ashamed of themselves for treating someone like that (it's bad enough on a usual day but for them to do that on this date was just heart wrenching!).
This morning I was listening to U93 and they had a tribute with a little girl talking about how she misses her daddy that died on that day. I bawled the whole time listening to it. It broke my heart! I hope our country never forgets that day and forgets the people who have lost their lives and the families that still have to go on. And for all the brave men and women still fighting for this country!

I was working as Asst. Manager at Bank One in downtown SB. One of the girls came into work and said you won't believe what happened. So I turned on the tv and all of us were like in shock. To this day I get teary watching video clips of it all. The people that gave their lives will never know the positive impact they have had on our lives.

I was working with special needs kids in an elementary school up in Granger. I was dropping my daughter off at my sister-in-laws when the first two planes hit. On my way to work, I listened to the radio and couldn't believe what I was hearing. At school, everyone was quite dismal. My daughter was only 1, but I remember wondering how parents were going to explain this horrific event to their children without scaring the absolute shit out of them. Such a somber day...

Yes, I was at home watching the today show. I was 9 months pg, my actual due date was on the 10th. I sat in horror watching it, while my oldest was in preschool(close to the airport). I feared for her saftey and I feared for ours as they talked alot about the possibility of hospitals being in danger along with all other public places. I didn't want my baby to be born on that day--I didn't want the shadow of 9-11 to be his/her birthday. Anyways, I did make it through the day, went into the hospital late on the 12th and had a healthy baby boy on September 13. I now have a lucky 13!

9/11
I was on my way to work. I had just dropped off my son at daycare. I asked if I could turn on the TV when I got to work.
My brother was outside the actually site, but he was there. The stories he told were unbelievable.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families that lost someone that day!
