8th Annual Kids' Triathlon

Yesterday (July 26) was the TCU Kids triathlon. First I would like to say to all the parents and kids that were there... GREAT JOB! My oldest was part of this event this year. His first year. We were unable to stay for the reward ceremony afterwards. But I was shock to see only a few photos of the event in the South Bend Tribune but NO WRITE up of this event. There was other area events on hand in the newspaper but no write up about this event. They even had a decent write up about the new handicapped playground located across from the zoo (Which is great by the way) and these events were in the same area and about the same time. I know it's only a simple event BUT these kids are young and this Triathlon is not easy for these kids at least not easy for all of them. My son has serve asthma and for him to do this sort of event is hard on him. I think having a write up in the newspaper would have gone a long way for the self worth of these young kids PLUS there was papers going around stating the parks will be closed down next year if they don't get more funding. It might help for the area community to know who much the parks actually do for the community and a write up about this event would had gone a long way. Someone truly drop the ball on this event!
