1st preschool field trip!
My son has been going to First United Methodist preschool for 3
weeks now. I think he really enjoys it, and I know he loves his
teachers! They had their first field trip for the year this morning.
We went to Matthys Farms. We went on a hayride out into the field,
then the kids got to go through a corn maze that led right out into the
pumpkin patch. Each child got to pick their own pumpkin. It was so
cute to see all these small kids in this huge field running around
looking for the perfect pumpkin! Matthys has this huge area fenced off
and there is a small petting zoo and fun playground. The kids got to
play for awhile, then they went in for snack time. It was decorated so
cute with Halloween table clothes and they sat on bails of hay. I know
that Matthys does alot of field trips, but I'm not sure if you can just
take your family there. Worth looking into, the kids really seemed to
enjoy the morning!!
This actually gave my husband an idea for
this website! I'll be doing some research and posting a list of local
pumpkin patches, corn mazes, etc. We also love to apple pick each
fall, and we are always looking for somewhere great to go, so maybe
I'll just work on something for fun, fall family activities.
Check back soon for more info on apple picking and pumpkin patches!!
